  17. eng-derbyshire-chesterfield Chesterfield is a large market town situated in the Northern part of Derbyshire, on the eastern side of the Peak District National Park. It is approx. 25 miles (40 km) north of the city of Derby and 11 miles (18 km) south of the city of Sheffield. Chesterfield derives its name from the combination of two Anglo-Saxon words, caester (Roman fort) and feld (grazing land). It is famous for its landmark of the "crooked spire" on the 14th century Church of St Mary and All Saints.
