Smothers is sometimes written a number of ways in various data especially in census as Smoother, Smoothers, Smother, even at times seen as Smith, Smither, Smithers, Smuthers, when they really are Smothers. Our list and sharing with one another can help each other to break down these spelling barriers and help one another find the ancestors they seek in relationships. Comparing notes on the list with others can aid in this discovery, especially one another's paper trails can help especially newer folks just getting into research, find the various spelling errors a bit confusing and by sharing on list hope to bring some clarifications for them in their continued research.
