If there is any special location, ethnic group or specific topic you would like more information on; just let me know and I will try to find it for you. I try to find things that are a little unusual, things that aren't on most of the sites you might visit.
This is a county list solely for the discussion of all things related to the history and genealogy of Macon Co. and the people who made it what it is today. Macon County was established by European Americans on December 18, 1832, from land ceded by the Creek, following the US Congress' passage of the Indian Removal Act of 1830. The Creek were removed to Indian Territory west of the Mississippi River. Its county seat is Tuskegee. Its name is in honor of Nathaniel Macon, a member of the United States Senate from North Carolina.

This group mailing list is associated with Donauschwaben Villages Helping Hands, Inc. [DVHH.org], a non-profit volunteer project assisting researchers of Danube Swabian heritage. It is a bilingual English-German mailing list for anyone with an interest in the former Danube Swabian (ethnic German) villages situated in the seven regions which were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1918: Banat, Batschka, Hungarian Highlands, Sathmar, Swabian Turkey, Syrmia and Slavonia. Bulgaria is also included. We help researchers discover their Danube Swabian ancestral roots, history, environs, culture and lifestyle.
