In that NJ was one of the original colonies, many records dating back to pre-Revolutionary days exist. Many of the founding families with current descendants entered the colonies settling in Hudson Co. This especially true of Dutch settlers during the late 17th and early 18th centuries.

It is a bilingual English-German mailing list for anyone with an interest in the former Danube Swabian (ethnic German) villages situated in the seven regions which were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1918: Banat, Batschka, Hungarian Highlands, Sathmar, Swabian Turkey, Syrmia and Slavonia.
