Have hit a brick wall. Am posting again. Zimmerman of YOrk or Adams Co. PA. Looking for John Caprenter b Dec 26, 1806. Wills (copies in my possession) state his grandfather Peter Zimmerman and aunt Elizabeth Zimmerman mention John Carpenter in their wills as grandson and nephew. Somewhere either with John or his father who is a missing link tahe name was changed to Carpenter. Several of you have mentioned books of Carpenters.
