Richard; Seems our Zimmerman lines are from the same general area. I had a letter from a gentleman who said my Koelpin is near Poland about 60km west of the border, situated in Brandenburg SE of Berlin. My Christian Zimmerman d. 1809 Rohrbacher (?) His wife d. 1811 Koelpin I only have one child listed from them and that is Johann Gottlieb b. 1789 Koelpin and m. 1838 Volklingen (near Saarbruchen). JG's son was August Ludwig m. 1871 Lutgendortmund, Westphalen and came US 1881-84 to PA & Ohio. As far as I know this line of Zimmermann was not Jewish. I think some of the records I have seen would have said so.
