Hello Zimmerman Rooters Does anyone have anything on a George Zimmerman born the 28 Aug 1837 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He is my brick wall. Have birth, marriage and death sources but none list his parents. Not even the 1850 Federal Census has him with parents. Sure would be a help if I could just find something on him or if someone could tell me where to look next. I know he was married to Mary Magdalena DARR and they resided in Carlisle, Cumberland Co Pennsylvania. George Zimmerman lived with The Samuel Allen Family in North Middleton Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in 1850 according to the 1850 Federal Census and they were listed as Samuel Allen age 50, Hetty E. Allen age 46, George Allen age 23, Samuel Allen Age 17, George Zimmerman age 12, Rebecca Allen age 10, David Allen age 8, Jacob Allen age 7, Sarah Ann Allen age 3, Yost Allen age 8/12 , Mary Ann Allen 15 and Mary Ruth age 42. !DOCUMENTATION: 1.CENSUS: 1880 Fed. Census N. Middleton Twp Cumberland Co.Pa page 10 Super.Dist # 7 Enum. Dist. #73 Also shows Elizabeth DARR as Mother-in-law Age 59 Widowed. 2.OCCUPUTION: Carpenter 3.BIRTHPLACE: Degister of Death B-Vol 1. #1592 lists Cumberland Co Pa. 4.MARRIAGE: First Evangel. Lutheran Church Carlisle Pa 28 Dec 1858. Cumberland Co Historical Soc. Newspaper Index states Married on the 28th Inst., by Rev. Jacob Fry, George Zimmerman to Mary M. Darr, both of N. Middleton Twp-American Volunteer (Carlisle) Thursday January 13, 1859. 5.DEATH: Perlectic Stroke as per Death Register of Cumberland Co Pa. 6.CENSUS: U.S.1850 Census has George living with the Samuel Allen Family. 7.BURIAL: Wagner's or Waggoneer Church Cem FHL #0856818 page 42 also listed on Register of Death B-Vol 1 #1592 Cumberland Co PA.
