Zimmerman, 71 and a longtime resident of Socorro, died on February 1, 2003 in Belen, NM. He was born in Nebraska to Clarence C. and Agnes Hughes Zimmerman. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an active member of the San Miguel Catholic Church. His parents, C.C. and Bill Zimmerman; and a daughter, Connie Sue, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Zimmerman of Socorro, NM; a son, Ray Zimmerman and wife, Cathy of Phoenix, AZ; and a grandson, David Zimmerman of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by brothers, Bob Zimmerman and wife, Janet and Tom Zimmerman and wife, Sally, all of Socorro, NM and Larry Zimmerman and wife, Beverly of Albuquerque, NM; sisters, Maxine Miller and husband, George of Vernal, UT, Janet Brown and husband, Benny of Aztec, NM and Lavella Mercer of Socorro, NM; and by many loving nieces and nephews. A Rosary for Jack will be recited ! at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at San Miguel Catholic Church, Socorro, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at San Miguel Catholic Church, Socorro, NM. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will include Mike Zimmerman, Ty Zimmerman, Mark Mercer, Harold Zuni, Eddie Perkins and Kenny Milligan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Todd Brown and Eric Brown.
