Hi - My great-grandfather is named George Washington ZIMMERMAN. He was born 1823 in Ross County, Ohio, married Sarah Jane SAXTON in 1849 in Hardin County, Ohio and moved to Center Point, Linn County, Iowa in 1854. Sarah died before 1860 and he married second Maria Jane CHURCH in 1862. He and Maria remained in Center Point for the rest of their lives. George had 3 children with Sarah, G.W., Joseph and Isabelle. He had eleven children with Maria; Clinton, Alice, Cora, Henry, Frank, Elizabeth, Florence, Arthur, Earl Frederick and Walter, my grandfather. I believe George's parents were Andrew ZIMMERMAN and Ruth Ann TAYLOR, who were married in Frederick, Frederick County, Maryland. Anything sound familiar? Rita Zimmerman Guzzo
