I know that at the trun of the century some of them were in San Fransisco as they were during the earthquake in 1907. There is a reference to a Barnhart (spelling ??) Zimmerman in GA in the 1800's who was related to the John Zimmerman I spoke of in my posting. Does any of this sound familair? I would be glad to share what I have.

This is what I know (or THINK I know) about Augusta (Justina/Gustina) Christina Zimmerman and Heinrich J. Zoemisch and their children: -Augusta was born on September 11, 1824 or September 13, 1825 in Sommerretz, Saxony, Altenburg, Germany. -She married Heinrich J. Zoemisch about 1847, probably in Germany. -Heinrich was born on March 5 or 25, 1825 in Schmöllen, Herzogthum Sachsen (Saxony) Altenburg, Germany. -They had a daughter, Auguste, born March 6, 1854. -They had a son, Gustave G. Zoemisch, born April 21, 1851 in Hesse, Saxony-Altenburg, Germany. -According to the 1870 Census, Gustave moved to Washington County, Wisconsin, from Sltenburg Halsse D. -Heinrich and Augusta and their children came to America about 1868 or 1870 and settled in Washington County, Wisconsin. This is all the information I have about them in Germany. I realize that the places are probably spelled wrong. I have more information about them in America if you are interested.
