Where were your Peter Makeley and Polly living in 1850? Have you looked them up in the US Federal Census? Depending on when she passed, she might be listed on that census. Who did Matthias Zimmerman marry and when was he born? I have a book home that I can look up names and there are 3 Matthias'. There was no Peter Makely in the book. His parents were Fred and Nettie (Miller) Zimmerman. Fred was my grandfather Nathan's younger brother. Ransom was born in March 1912 and his first wife was Henrietta Yunsa (daughter of Joseph and Catherine {Niezgoda} Yunsa). They were married 24 October 1931 by George J. Picton, J. P. in Plymouth, Luzerne County, PA. They had one daughter, Catherine L., born 27 November 1932. What happened to Henrietta I don't know. Ransom then married Genevieve and they had a daughter, Genevieve. This last piece of information was given to me by Ransom's younger brother, Earl. I'm always interested in exchanging info. It's good to finally know Genevieve's maiden name (Truex). I have a website dedicated to the surname Zimmerman in Luzerne County, PA. The address is: www.angelfire.com/pa4/zimmerman Feel free to get in touch with me and I'll help out with what I can. Regards, Ben Zimmerman

Thank you, I would have never thought of that one. Vicki
Do you know any of the children of Anna and Sebastian Zimmerman? Are they listed with this church, and if so, how do I find these records? I am not sure if Polly is a nickname for her or if it is her actual name. I do not have any idea what Polly might be a nickname for. Any help greatly appreciated. She has been a brick wall for ages now. It is nice to possibly find a clue to her parents. TIA, Vicki

The name "Levan" rings a bell for me. In Strassburger-Hinkle's book, "Pennsylvania German Pioneers" is found "Lists of Pennsylvania German Pioneers, 1727-1775, [List 1 A} A List of ye Palatine Passengers, Imported on ye Ship William & Sarah, Willm Hill, Mar [Master] from Rotterdam. Philada ye 18th Sept. 1727." Listed among the passengers is Daniel Levan, Con. and Andw Simmerman. The marriage record of Sebastian Zimmerman and Anna Elizabeth Levan, Dec. 11, 1733 in Maxatawny Twp., Berks Co., PA is found in the church records of a Rev. Johann Casper Stover. Hello, I am trying to find the children of Leah or Leona ZIMMERMAN and John CRISLER married 14 Jan 1811. I believe William, Verinda, Eliza, Julia Ann, and John Price were their children. I am especially interested in William. Thanks so very much, Denise
Wish I could say I did know these names, but I don't. I have been trying to find my Zimmerman for years now, but no luck either. Polly is hard to find. She married a Makeley, Peter. She died in 1850 after childbirth of my gggrandfather Levan Zimmerman Makeley. Do you know where exactly in this area they might have been and where buried? Vicki

Any leads for marriage info of gg-grandmother from Somerset Co, PA (probably Quemahoning Twp). What I know from family history: Catharine Zimmerman b: 1808 PA mar: Tobias Myers in PA. At least 3 children: son ukn b:ca 1840, dau Elizabeth b:1843 mar: Jacob Bechtel 1861 in OH?, son Elam b:1854. 1880 census Catharine living in Orrville, Wayne, OH w/ a dau-in-law Mary E. Myers and son Elam. If my Catharine is dau of Michael & Elizabeth Kimmel Zimmerman 1808 baptism Mt Tabor Reformed Church, Stoystown, Quemahoning Twp, Somerset, PA, there may be marriage records in that area, and probably children birth records for the 3 (all born in PA). Catharine was the youngest of 9 children, born late in life for Michael d: 1823, Elizabeth d: 1833 (if accurate). Married Tobias Myers 1830-1840? Census records appear to keep Catharine with her parents though 1830. Looking for verification of Catharine, and any info for a Tobias Myers. There are a lot of us descendants here in Ohio missing some PA roots. Another missing gg-grandfather is Samuel Jacob Bechtel b:ca1802 Stonycreek twp, Somerset, PA to Jacob Bechtel 1765-1844 and Mary Sickman 1773-1843 who moved from Fredrick Co, Md between 1800-1810. Have identified 2 dau Susan, Sarah, & my Jacob, but would like info on the other son (b:ca 1794) and other 5 daughters as maybe more that one joined the Wayne Co, OH group between 1830 and 1850.
