Hello Everyone, I am new to the list and looking for information about my grandmother Genevieve Mae Zimmerman, also know as Mae Zimmerman. She was born in Omaha on 2 June 1908. Here mother's name was Mae Ruby. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that knows of this person. I have been told that Genevieve's grandfather was from Berlin. Thanks. Mark S. Ellis R.T. Emil, I found your message on the Zimmerman mail list. I noticed that your Zimmerman connection from Bohemia immigrated to Wisconsin. I have set up a "Zimmerman & Zimmermann in Wisconsin" page on my family web site. It has information about researching Zimmerman/n in Wisconsin and also includes a database for Zimmerman or Zimmermann who have ever lived in Wisconsin. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~zimzip/zim/zim.htm Please visit the page and after viewing the database consider submitting some of your own ancestors. Sincerely, Karen Keehne Zimmerman -----Original Message----- From: Emil & Evie Krause <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Tuesday, April 27, 1999 9:28 AM Subject: [ZIMMERMAN-L] surnames >Researching these surnames: > >Bohemia: >Krause, Zimmermann, Kretschmer, Ritter, Ressel, Schindler, Tschiedel, Scholz >this family line immigrated to USA in 1907 to Wisconsin > >Mecklenburg: >Brockmann, Ludert, Luth, Schulz, Wille >this family line immigrated to USA IN 1868 to Wisconsin > >Rheinland: >Wirtz, Murges, Cramer, Murres, Hoffmann,Tontorfs, Nelles, Zoetten, Maus, >Grommes, Hennen, Junker, Hargarten >this family line immigrated to USA in 1892 to Wisconsin > >Would like to hear from anyone researching these surnames. >Thank You >Emil in Wisconsin > > > >==== ZIMMERMAN Mailing List ==== >Visit Daisy's Zimmerman Page! >http://www.rootsweb.com/~daisy/zimmerman.htm > > > > > >

Hello, In June of next year (2000) there will be a reunion of the Francis/Frank Zimmermann and John Pfeifer families that settled in and around St. Vincent, Conway County, AR. The reunion will be held near Troy, IL. I don't have time to list the 14 Zimmerman children now. If you are related to a Zimmerman from central Arkansas, contact me to see if we are related. Thanks, Jeri

First, read the Welcome Message that you received > when you subscribed. Feel free to contact Yvonne James-Henderson, > list administrator with questions concerning this list! > mailto:[email protected] Dear Mindy, I suspect that your Samuel J. Zimmerman of Bollinger Co., Mo. is descended from a Zimmerman family of NC. I traced the Carpenters who were originally Zimmerman but changed their names. In the process I also traced other Carpenters and Zimmermans who might also be related. I believe that your family is certainly not related to mine and have only done some research on them. I suspect that your Samuel J. is a descendant of a Michael Zimmerman who died in NC about 1825. At that time his descendants disposed of some of his land in Lincoln Co., NC. His heirs were listed as David, John,m Jacob, Ann, Elizabeth Sr. [probably his wife], Elizabeth Jr., and Michael. All were listed as residing in Burke County, NC at the time of the deed. This elder Michael is a son of Michael Zimmerman and wife Elizabeth, who re-married to John Killian. This Michael Zimmerman was deceased by 1785 in Montgomery Co, Pa. when his son Michael Jr. of "Linkhorn County, Carolina" sold some of his land. Michael and George Zimmerman were in Mulford Twp., Montgomery Co., Pa. as early as 1741. Of course we do not have the connection between these older lines and your Samuel J. Zimmerman. I know no more than what I have told you. I suggest you contact Lorena Eaker. She is a prominent researcher of the Bollinger and Cape Girardeau County area of Missouri. Try one of these e-mail addresses: [email protected] [email protected] She currently lives in Church Hill, Tennessee. If you cannot get through using one of the e-mail addresses let me know and I will contact her for you. Good luck. Robert Carpenter
I cannot locate the e-mail address for Paul Andree who had a David Zimmerman, I believe married to a Kelly, therefore I am sending this to Zimmerman-L in the hope that he may read it...... I have found a James Kelly as witness to my g-g-g-grandmother. Ann Christianna ZIMMERMAN's, 11/26/1855 will, along with Joseph Lippy and Samuel Snyder. (Carroll Co. MD probate) I also have a David Zimmerman, the son of Georg(e) and Mary Ann Cooper Zimmerman, b. abt 1833, probably York Co. PA, who simply disappeared from Fulton Co. IL between 1850 and 1870 according to census records. (A family story is that he simply walked away one day and was never heard of again.) He was listed as 17 in 1850, Fulton Co. Deerfield Twp.; census, in the George & Mary Ann Zimmerman household. Joan [email protected]
Ely/Eli Zimmerman was b. abt 1801 Maryland and wife Polly Smith b. abt 1810 Virginia per IN census. They were m. 2 Sep 1823 Fayette Co., OH per Gateway to the West, vol. l. I would like to find out who their parents and sibs were and take it as far back as I can. I have found some info on Maryland families at LDS, but cannot make a connection. I have info on some of their descendants that is not easy to come by, so I will put it here for anyone who may find a connection with their Zimmermans. Children of Ely and Polly include: 1. Isaac b. abt Mar 1827 OH, d. 23 Mar 1875 Black Creek Twp., Mercer Co., OH, bu. Zimmerman Cemetery, Blk. Crk. He m. Jane Warner 14 1849 Adams Co. IN. Their children were 1)Elizabeth, b. abt 1851; 2)Eli C. b. abt 1852, d. 18 Feb 1857, bu. Zimmerman Cem., Blk. Crk.; 3) Ellen J. b. abt 1855; 4) Winfield S. b. abt 1858. I believe they were all b. Black Creek, but some may have been b. Adams Co., IN. Census said they were b. OH. Cemetery records show 3 more children: 5) girl d. 1860; 6) Polly; and boy b. & d. 1860. 2. Hank b. abt 1832 OH 3. Polly b. abt 1834 OH 4. my ancestor, John b. bef 1836 IN - prob. Adams Co., d. bef. 1860 IN or OH. He m. Leah Hartzog 14 Dec 1852 Willshire Co., Van Wert Co., OH (it is the county just no. of Mercer Co.) They had two children bef. he died and she m. 2nd Henry Banta: 1) Jesse G. or B. Zimmerman b. 21 Sep 1853 IN or OH, d. 10 Jan 1930 Aurora, IL who m. Annetta Meek, dtr. of Alexander Meek and Melinda Houlette on 23 Mar 1873-1878; and 2) Mary (Molly) Zimmerman. If you know who m. Molly Zimmerman and who their children are, I would like to know that too. 5. Eli b. abt 1842 Adams Co., IN 6. Liz b. abt 1846 Adams Co., IN

I am new to this list. I am searching for info about my gggf Baltus UNSEL(L) and my gggm Catherine ZIMMERMAN. They lived in Utica, NY between 1855 and 1860. We don't know where they lived before. We know nothing of Baltus' history or place or date of birth. Catherine was born in 1818 in Baden, Germany. We know she had two sisters-Mary ZIMMERMAN BECK and Rosa ZIMMERMAN SCHREIGLER and we think a brother Matthew who "moved west". She supposedly arrived in America (? port of entry) in 1853. Can anyone help us with info about Catherine ZIMMERMAN? If we can find where Catherine lived before here marriage we can possibly trace both gggrandparents. Their children (all born in Utica, NY) were named John, Mary, Michael and Bethiah. Thank you. Kathy Unsel Gillis [email protected]
