Looking for a Dave Zimmerman, born about 1930. Wife Vera, daughter Diane. David J. Zimmerman
Like Rob Bowe, my husband's ancestors are from the northern area of Germany, specifically Stettin, Pommern (now Szczecin, Poland). Our Zimmermans also settled in Dodge Co., WI. Rob and I have been comparing notes :) If you have Zimmerman/n ancestors who lived in Wisconsin at any time, check out "Zimmerman/Zimmermann in Wisconsin". http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~zimzip/zim/zim.htm The site includes a database alphabetical by first name, and links to other resources including land patent records, some census records, etc. Submissions to the database are most welcome. One of the main reasons I set up the database was to help locate direct descendants of my husband's great-grandparents, William Zimmerman/n and Bridget Bowe. Last month I was delighted to receive an email from Grace LaRayne in Wisconsin. She is a descendant of William and Bridget's eldest son, Fred. Others have also had some success in making contacts: Gerald Zimmerman found his great grandfather, Gustav Zimmerman, listed in the database by Cheryl Baker. Turns out they share the same generation of lineage from Gustav. I hope others will be able to locate common threads. Karen (Keehne Zimmerman) We MAY be SWITCHING our provider.
