Yes, I have used it from the beginning and bought every upgrade therafter. I find it to be easy to use and enter family info. You can enter every source on which you found that individual. It makes beautiful charts and can print out several reports. But, of course, I'm prejudiced, since it's the only program I've ever used. I tried a demo version of TMG (The Master Genealogist) and it;s a fine program too, but with a little steeper learning curve. Rob, >From what I understand, in the German speaking countries in Europe, the spelling for Zimmermann is always with a double "nn", just like "Neumann", "Amtmann", etc My Zimmermann's are from Minden Westfalen-Lippe area in old Prussia, which is now (or was) West Germany, east of Munster and south of Hannover. I only have info on the one, my ggg grandmother who married Johann Grune (Gurne). I would say in some intances yes and it others no, especially if you havea start. Mores epcifc ones do, but my grandfather who died in 1971 is not even in the Social Security index CD and his brother who died later is. His mother born in the mid 1800's is, as well, go figure SPRYNET wrote: > What about the CD's they offer in different packages. Have they helped any of you find missing relatives? What about the CD's they offer in different packages. Have they helped any of you find missing relatives? I am especially interested in the European Birth Certificates because of a lost link in my Zimmerman line.
Kristina sez: More disk space? I read at the family tree maker site "somewhere" that once you put the pic in it does not matter how many other people you link it to it does not take up any more space. In fact they suggested you create an individual called "entire family" and copy and paste all you photos there (with captions of course) and then have the ability to print the whole lot of pictures by hitting " print album". Just another advantage to the program. Kristina Kuhn Columbus, oh Well, this is something I did not know and I am very thankful for the information! BTW, I'm in Dayton. Martha Hardcastle Guthrie
Seeking info on Benedict ZIMMERMAN-b. 1797, Switzerland & his wife Esther HOLBORN-b. Lehigh, Pa. Their Children Included: Margaret Lavina Solomon Peter-d. May 1890, tuberculosis Benjamin Jacob and others. Any sound familiar?

I have used The Family Tree Maker for several years. Before that I used two others, one of which was the LDS software. I much prefer Family Tree Maker because of the ease of use. The new Version 6 has several new features that are really great. I love it. It has room for everything I need and more. I do wish it was easier to copy and paste individual items as opposed to a complete report into, say a Word document. I love the relationship calculator and the kinship report. There are many kinds of reports you can generate. I do wish it had a feature where you could plug in a particular date or location and spit everything with that date or location out. I think Brother's Keeper had that but I don't like the program as well. The only problem I have with the photo album is that sometimes I would like to associate a picture of more than one person with more than one entry. As it is, you have to duplicate if I want the picture of me Martha and Cousin Lynn to be in both our entry areas. I think it takes up more disc space that way. I printed out an awesome book for a family reunion in May and everyone loved it. Has anyone here bought the Family Tree Maker Software? Is it worth the $80.00?
I am looking for the parents of Susanna Zimmerman (b. 31 Mar 1852, Prussia; d. 14 May 1911, Chicago). I understand that her parents had settled in New Jersey. Tom Smith
