    1. [ZIEGLER-L] Re: ZIEGLER-D Digest V98 #6 - Urban Mattias Ziegler
    2. In a message dated 98-01-18 09:34:04 EST, you write: << I guess what I would really like is to locate Urban Mattias Ziegler's family and find out what happened to all his research. Anyway, that is basically all the information I have. If anything sounds vaguely familiar, I would surely appreciate a tip from someone. Thanks and happy hunting. Gail J. (Ziegler) Wilson >> - - - - - Dear Gail and Other Zieglers My grandfather, John Samuel Ziegler, was born January 1, 1883 in Digby, Nova Scotia. He too ended up in Washington state, passing away July 19, 1955 in Stanwood, Washington. How he got from the Eastern Seaboard to the West Coast, I do not know. I understand his ancestors in Nova Scotia often traveled up and down the Eastern coast (Canada and US) in their fishing boats. My grandfather did not continue the fishing trade in Washington. Oprated saws in lumber mills and eventually lost 3 fingers on one hand in a sawmill accident. I've drifted enough. I have never heard of your Ziegler. But find it interesting that there is another Ziegler family around here somewhere. (Ziegler is my mother's maiden name.) I do have a little information on my Ziegler clan if it would be of interest to you. Kitty Curtis Martin k9504m@aol.com
