    3. from JAZ Earl you are correct about Jacob's DOB. I know he came over on the Ship Ann Galley in 1746, so if he was a baby (say 1 year old) then he would be about 30 when he got married in 1775. What did you indicate for his birth? Did you get my previous request? about your Ziegler info? Can you tell me what Iam doing wrong with this list and posting? am I suppose to see a continuous dialog between all the Zieglers, or do I have to compose a letter and send it each time. For some reason I see the dialog sometimes with the prompt > . Let me know if you can help me. My email is zieglerj2@hotmail.com and I am sending to ziegler-l@rootsweb.com but am I suppose to be sending or posting and should I see the continuos dialog now? / ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

OK; I'll bite, my ZIEGLER's md into my GILKERSON's in Wayne Co WV ca 1850 Col John ZIEGLER (a Yankee) lived in Boyd County KY in 1870 and was the father of Hiram Ziegler also a Hessian from PA in the Union Army. I am not searching for his descendants since my Grandmothers Sister Delilah GILKERSON md Hiram. Will look up more if requested. Those old Germans probably came from Western PA ca 1838. 3. I have only found two listings for my Father's Maternal Grandfather, W. M. Zeigler: once in the 1860 census (age 38, coachmaker, b. PENN) with spouse Anna Kennedy (b. PENN, age 31), daughter Susan Jane (age 11, born SC, my GGrandmother, married James C. Martin [b. SC 1844]), son William (age 9, b. SC),daughter Laura (age 5, b. SC),and infant daughter, age 4 months. once in the Charleston City Directory for 1868, listed as a house painter. I don't even know his full name. A question-- Were there a lot of RailRoad employees in the 1800's? A lot of my Martins and Browns were connected to Railroads. Does anyone know? Thanks, Caroline Williams

    3. There's been more activity on the Ziegler group list this week than there was all summer! Thanks, Pam and Jack, for waking us up. Based on the posts I've seen to this list over the past year, it would seem that 9 of every 10 Ziegler researchers can trace their lines through the state of Pennsylvania. However, I know of no PA Zieglers in my own line. I can trace my line back to Georg Jakob Ziegler, who was born in Wuerttemberg, Germany on October 3, 1848. He and his wife Ana Maria Weinmann Ziegler came to Faribault County, MN, in 1881, and moved on to Yamhill County, OR in 1886. They had 13 children, the names and spouses of whom I can share with anyone who might be interested. If you have any interest in or connections to this Germany/Minnesota/Oregon branch of Zieglers, I'd be interested to hear from you. Thanks. Richard Mathews Brea, California

Her father Jacob Everwine (?-1873) first settled in Blairsville, then in Indiana City, then in Rayne Township, all in Indiana County. Assuming William and Louisa married near her parent's home, these are the options. I am in possession of William Ziegler's will which was signed on March 21, 1870 and executed April 26, 1870. His widow is executrix. Does anyone have any inkling of this William Ziegler's parents? He had only daughters: Kate Ziegler Clark (?-1906), Rose, Margaret, Anne J.
