    1. [YOUNGER] Attn: Robert Younger
    2. The land you refer to purchased by Alexander Younger was from "Leonard Hill, Gent. of South Farnham parish in the county of Essex in this colony of Virginia, attorney general for George Coppel Moravia of ye city of London, and Richard Jones planter of ye same of ye one part and Alexander Younger, planter of ye forsesaid parish and party of ye other part." The signatures are Richard (seal) Jones and Leo: Hill (seal). This is in the old English script and spelling -- very very difficult to try to decipher. Regarding the guardianships of Alexander's children. Thomas Younger was appointed guardian of James Younger 16 December 1732. He was appointed guardian of Janett and Susannah Younger 19 December 1732, Mary Younger 16 January 1732, and of Ann Younger in a separate action 16 January 1732. He and co signers posted bonds one hundred pounds for James, three hundred pounds for Janett and Susannah, and one hundred fifty pounds each for Mary and Ann. To me that says that brother John was dead already and that his land had reverted to James. Since half the land now constituted most of James' inheritance, less security was required. I may be entirely wrong in my interpretation. But we do know that John's death was reported to the court Aug 1733 in Rebecca Younger and Timothy Driscoll's final accounting. Any other later accounting by Thomas may have been filed in K & Q County. What I don't have an explanation for is that the children who received the land were not to share in the personal estate but there were supposedly eight shares in August 1733. Pat Finnell
