The intermarriage of Montagues and Lees was prolific and somewhat tedious to keep track of. It all began when Ann Montague m. Philip Lee. Honestly, I have not taken the time to track down the background of all the Lees because my focus has been the 15,000 descendants of Jamestonwe immigrant Peter Montague. File Ann beginning with Ann Montage m. Philip Lee traces all the relationships in my database of Lees and Montagues. It does not just follow the Montague Surname. I would be grateful if you could review these and provide any additional information or corrections on the Montagues and their spouses and children. Robert Deering/Dearing and their daughter is Mary Agatha Dearing Younger, my ggg grandmother. I have read with interest your genealogy on Peter Montigue. On my family tree, it lists a Catherine Montigue m.1. a John Lee 2. George Twyman I 3. Phillip Warwick. I noticed in your genealogy that John Lee is not listed. But on page 26, John Lee is a signer to the will of Phenelope Montique, looks like her husband is Thomas, and in that will is mentioned a Catherine. I know a Lucy Lee Smith married a William Montigue. Can you tell me which William she married? Do you know anything about this John Lee and how he fits into the Lee Family and the Montigue Family? I know the Lee Family liked to have relatives as signers on their documents. This is why I am asking. Capt. John W. Younger is from the same family(Humphrey Younger) of Kent County, MD as Joshua Younger, g grandfather of the Younger "gang" that rode with Jesse James. Now Cole Younger always said that Joshua's first wife was a "Lizzie Lee", a daughter of Lighthorse "Harry" Lee. Well, Lizzie Lee has never been proven, but Capt. John W. had a sister named Mary Younger Ragan, her huband being John Ragan. Their son, Jacob married the niece of Harry"Lighthorse" Lee's second wife, Ann Hill Carter and mother of Robert E. Lee and Jacob's wife was also named Ann Hill Carter. Cole Younger's aunt Sophia m. Tillard Ragon, Jacob's nephew. Now Ann Hill Carter's father was a John Carter (I think John). And he was from the King Carter family that on page 2 or 3 had something to do with the building of the church at Lancaster, I believe and I sawin there William Montigue as a delegate. As you can see all these families are tied together.
