    3. Brownie, Have any of the Halifax Youngers claimed this John Younger of Whitehaven? I copied the above from a book, but I can't give you the source unfortunately...didn't write it down on the pages. There are several publications out which give the lists, however. 3. An interesting thing about Whitehaven, is that is where the "John Younger "who changed his name to "John Paul Jones" was from. THE John Paul Jones. And he later lead an attack in Whitehaven. Also, Kelsick Younger married into this line of Youngers. I think he married one of Johns daughters??? Anyone remember? Later "Joan Younger" was exporting tobacco from Virginia to London. Whos daughter was she??? And I found James Younger listed as captain of the "Betty". Exporting cargo from Virginia to London. There were Youngers in London who were "tobacco merchants" Gosh, this is always so much fun. I LOVE more questions than answers :) Betty ----- Original Message ----- From: "Judy" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, February 11, 2007 10:05 PM Subject: Re: [YOUNGER] transported felons from London > Brownie, Have any of the Halifax Youngers claimed this John Younger of > Whitehaven? 3. In order for John Paul (Jones) to be apprenticed to John Younger of Whitehaven, wouldnt he or his father had to have had some family connection?? Were orphans apprenticed to total strangers??
