Thanks for clearing that up. I see now they were the sons of their eldest son, George Worthington Younger. Another thing that was throwing me was the designation, Judge. I hadn't seen that anywhere before. He was listed as a farmer in 1860 and was dead by 1865, so he must have became a Judge after the 1860 census. Regarding John being the one discussed in the narrative, John and George were both in the 1880 Navarro Co. census, living together and also included John's wife and child. So, we'll have to come up with a different John who died before Alexander. John in 1880 census is 32, born TX, living in Springhill Town, and he is a physician. Brother, George, was the enumerator and a grocer. Wilma, I saw that also in regard to John, I tracked John Younger in the census you mentioned. So I knew there had to be another John in the family . Because the John mentioned in Darcus's story died before Alexander did in 1866 ( I would take a guess it was a recent death of John for Alexander to still be so raw ,so a possible death date would be 1865-1866 ) Another clue. As for "Judge " he became a judge while in Missouri so that was before the move to Texas. We will have to do some more digging to find the date of his appointment. I was looking for more clues ,so I was reading about the Shackelford family. When Martha Jane Younger married Gabriel Shackelford in 1841 Mo. The other articles said he married the daughter of "Judge Alexander Younger " So it is possible he was a already a Judge by 1841.To be referred to in that way. I did not previously know he had ever been a Judge. But as all the other family members are mentioned I know this is the right Alexander because Jane Merchant Hancock is mentioned also. After he "retired" and moved to Texas he was a plantation owner " Farmer ". Last night I just kept thinking WOW I have to share all of this.I was really surprised.Did anyone else know about this ???
