Hi Judy and all, Right now I'm using webmail without my stuff (my computer is downstairs and I can't do steps yet) and Brownie is traveling, so bear with us. Judy is right that people can donate any amount towards a particular test. You can see the balance of our general fund on our Younger dna page, the link I think is www.familytreedna.com/public/younger. I don't think we have any balance at all at this point as the previous funds were donated for specific tests. I don't have my reference materials with me and someone can correct me if I'm wrong about the link name above. The funds can be donated 'in memory" of someone or anonymously or whatever the donor wants. In this project and others, it's not unusual for folks to contribute to the testing costs for a kit for someone who will mutually benefit others, in fact it's quite common. You can make a contribution using a credit card or paypal by looking at our page and selecting the "donate to general fund" option. You can donate any amount and sometimes people donate $5 or $10, sometimes more. Sometimes the person who will be taking the test pays part too, although that's ! probabl y not a proper topic for the list, who paid how much:) I've had situations where that person later contributed to other tests, so it all comes out in the wash and we learn more about our family. I would suggest beginning with a $99 ($104 total with shipping I think) test since it will tell us which branch of the tree Stephen is in and upgrading can be done later if needed.
