    3. Back in the saddle after Holiday- Stephen don't you want to know "Who's your Daddy?" ..Seriously , the only reason I am pushing DNA testing is that I have exhausted( over 10 years) all other sources - censuses and internet data bases etc. I have only been able , as I stated before , to confirm, to my satisfaction, my line to 1850 Carroll County District 5 Tennessee. It appears that everyone else wants to trace back to the infamous and multiple Alexander's. But my researcher , that wants to remain unnamed, has found two possible early(1600's) Scottish sources for the Younger's in America - the English Gentry( land owners) line( Tory- Anglican) that where tobacco farmers and the indentured(slaves)lowland Scottish Presbyterians prisoners that were forced out of the British isles during the religious wars and purges( refused to take the oath to the King and his state religion). They either where shipped to Bermuda or the southern colonies(Virginia, NC,SC, Georgia) to work as sla! ves on the English plantations. Before the African slaves where used. After the war of 1812 they were given or took land grants in mainly Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas. We believe I descend from the Scottish lowland Presbyterians from around Glasgow that where salt makers. These lowlanders had been fighting the English for a long time ( William Wallace etc) So again, the DNA testing is the only method I see that is left to connect the dots back any further...... You are in my supposed line( Armistead, William , Williamson) that were all in Carroll County in 1850 - then went back and forth between Tennessee and the mountains of Arkansas( late 1850's, 1860 and 1870). I am wanting to determined when the James(male) DNA was introduced - before 1850 or after- so if you match my DNA it would be before and if we don't match it would be after.....
