I just finished going through the census, 1860 to 1930 looking for Younger's living in Oregon. What amazed me most, is that so many of them were foreign born, from Scotland, Ireland and England. There were none in 1850 (at least none who were indexed). The only family that was somewhat familiar to me was Nero Littleton, son of Littleton Purcell Younger. Wilma
My grandfather (Dick Younger, son of Charlie & Rutha of Stone County) settled here (in Oregon) in 1945. I've seen others in the tax rolls as far back as the mid-1850s, but none on the 1850 Census. There used to be quite a few Youngers in the Portland area whose families had been here longer than ours, but I haven't run across any of them for a while. Since I work about three miles from the Oregon State Archives, if there's every anything in their holdings you'd like me to look up, just let me know. - Stephen On Thu, Apr 30, 2009 at 9:30 AM, Wilma (Younger) Norton < wilma.norton@cox.net> wrote: > I just finished going through the census, 1860 to 1930 looking for > Younger's living in Oregon.
