I received this from another group I subscribe to. Thought it worth passing on. Wilma ----- Original Message ----- From: Emily To: Undisclosed-Recipient:; Sent: Sunday, July 12, 2009 2:30 AM Subject: Fw: Negative FTDNA Review on Insider Pages Greetings! This is a unique email, but it is very important that as people who have been involved in DNA testing take a stand. There has been great controversy lately over some areas of DNA Testing. In some cases various state governments have passed requirements that the consumer cannot purchase a DNA test without consulting a doctor, etc. Although these types of tests aren't quite related to the DNA tests we take, the problem is arising that the government is wanting to control what we can find out about ourselves. They claim that people do not understand what they are purchasing, etc. In some cases that is no doubt true as some consumers do not educate themselves before buying. This is true for many items, not just DNA. Please see the recent article about this on my blog (URL is below my name. In the meantime, I urge a few of you who have had success with DNA testing or have made any progress to write a review at the link below. You will see mine there. Please take the time to do this. We need FTDNA to be viewed in a positive light so more people will test and that could help us at some point. I think that we need to move in and post positive reviews. My understanding is that we need 8-10 +++++ ratings just to cancel this one negative out. So get all of your dna chums to post positives too. Don't worry about addressing what is in the bad review. Just let everyone know what fun you are having. :-) http://www.insiderpages.com/b/15247435697 If you have questions, please email me. Emily If you do not hear from me in a timely manner, just write again...I was buried in email. Wilma, I tried to write a review, but it would not accept the review unless I joined. Bob, I have nothing to do with that site, was just passing on information I thought was interesting. I did send in a review, guess I joined without being aware of it. If they don't drown me in emails, it won't be a problem.
