Wilma Norton or anyone, Do you have a copy of the F.O.T.Y. book? I've misplaced my copy. Seems to me and I may be quite wrong that there was an article on a Joseph Younger and he married a Susan? Grey. He was first accused of having an illegitimate child with another girl. They(Joseph and Susan Grey) had a Joseph and possibly Josephus. This article was written by a Michael Younger. One of the Josephs had a son John Younger. He moved to Switzerland County, IN. Across the river from Louisville. My ancestor Captn. John W. Younger died in 1856. In the same year a John Younger appeared in Shelby County, KY and I found out it was the John Younger m. Margaret Southern. Seems that someone on the Younger line did DNA on another line of the same family(I'm thinking NFarmwell) and he turned out to be from the Alexander Younger line. I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the same Joseph? ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com
Yes, I found the article you refer to. I've made a note to myself, "son of James ? who was son of Alexander ?)" but evidently I've never found proof of this as I don't have that Joseph Younger connected to parents. He married Elizabeth Gray, not Susan on Feb. 6, 1790 in Wilkes Co. NC, and they had six children. Nancy, Susannah, unknown male, William, Harrison and Joseph, Jr. He died in 1823 in Wilkes Co. NC. It was his son, Joseph, Jr. who moved to Switzerland Co. IN. He married Tabitha (maiden name unknown) and it was his son, John, who married Margaret Hall, her maiden name was Southern. John and Margaret had 12 children If my memory serves, N Farmwell was Nancy Farmwell and she used to be on this list. I don't have her email address. If you find your book, the article is on page 33 in the Biographies section. ----- Original Message ----- From: JudyFoley To: younger@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, September 08, 2009 7:12 PM Subject: [YOUNGER] Joseph Younger of Orange County,NC Wilma Norton or anyone, Do you have a copy of the F.O.T.Y. book?
