    3. RESIDENCE: From the Internet, not personally validated to date: Stark voted in the Election of Burgesses for Essex County in 1765. By April 1764 he had established himself in Cumberland County, VA. He married Catherine Price sometime before 27 Nov. 1771, the date of her father's will, in which he bequeathed one half interest in 200 acres of land in Cumberland County, VA to his son in law, Starke. In Feb. 1777 Starke sold his interest in this property and one month later bought land further west in Halifax County. By 1790 he had moved again to Rowan County, NC where he remained until at least 1805. He appears frequently buying and selling property. Records show he paid taxes in Jefferson County KY in 1807, 1808 and 1809.
