I just received my Fall 2009 Halifax Historical Society Bulletin. It contains information for which I have been searching for several years, but without documentation, and I wanted to find out if any other Younger researchers know the source of this data. I will write the author to get more information. pp. 23-26 "Watkins, Youngers and Winns" by Faye Royster Tuck My Grgr grandparents are William Younger Winn and Malinda Franklin Winn. The new (to me) information in this article is: "Lucy Younger and John Winn John and Lucy Younger Winn had the following children: 1. William Y- born 1804, married Melinda Franklin, a cousin in 1837, Halifax County. He died in 1876 in Halifax County. 2. Daniel- born 1801 3. Dolly- married George Newball" I had long suspected that William Younger Winn was the child of John and Lucy Winn, but where is this documented? Where is it documented that Melinda Franklin was a cousin? Is Franklin a maiden name, or the name of a first husband- she had a child, Ezekial Franklin, born 1834, three years before she marries William Y. Winn. If it is her maiden name, is she the daughter of Rebecca Younger and John Franklin? The only information I have about Melinda's parentage is that she names her mother as Dolly (no last name) and does not name a father when she marries for the second time at age 65, after the death of W.Y. Winn, (She married John Jones, the father-in-law of her daughter Lucy.) Dolly Younger Light leaves Melinda and Ezekial property in her will, but does not name Melinda as a daughter. Thanks for any help, Betty Martin
