    2. Thanks, I got it! I have blown it up and I don't think it says Timada, but the "ada" part is the clearest. I do know that Mary Cansady Dowell (and I can't recall where I found that spelling) signed a letter to her mother-in-law, Kanzada. <--there's the "ada", but I can't make Kanz out of the first part of the name. I can see that there is no dotted "i" in the name. I suppose the census taker could have written most anything for Kanzada if he didn't want to ask them how to spell it. Maybe he heard Tensada???? This is the family though, and it makes more sense now that I see that "Timada" is a female head of household and not "husband". I knew that Mahlon died abt. June 1891. Thanks again! Nancy
