I understand the difficulty of reading all of these names and settlements. One's head begins to grow dizzy. There is one thing I need to call to your special attention. The children of Thomas (the son of Thomas) who was deceased by 1842 when this suit came to fruition had his children specifically listed so they could receive their father's share of their grandfather's estate. I think by focusing on that you will be able to separate Thomas the son from Thomas the father. I did run across an error in my identification this very morning when I was going back and working of the Fretwell connection. Since Thomas (d 1791) named Mary Fretwell as his child in his will and she was not mentioned in the settlement, I made the assumption that the Mary Scudder had to be the former Mary Fretwell. The deed I found this morning, and will present here on the List, indicates that Mary was still living and was married to William Fretwell in to the 1750s. At the moment I have no idea who Mary Scudder is unless she is some form of the previously named Mary Fretwell. I will get back to that when I return from my errand.
