    3. Brownie, I spent a 1/2 day at the Carroll County Geneaology Library, actually the George Brown Musieum in McKensie, TN. They have a lot of data and don't mind looking it up. E-mail address is gbmuseum@aeneas.ner. Like all museum a little financial help never hurts. As I said, Armistead first went to Carroll County then on to Arkansas. He and family went there some time before Dec. 1848. I find in the court minutes where he and his brothers worked the roads in Carroll County, Armistead as was William and Williamson and John were overseers for the County. He is in the 1850 census but thats all. Probably moved on to Independance County, now Stone County, in early 1850's like about 1852. It seems his brothers all went to Carroll County long before Armistead. They are in the 1830 census of Carroll County. We find James T. Younger 1011001-122011, William Younger 121001-101001, William M. Younger 00001-1001, and Williamson Younger 10001-10001. There are other Younger's in TN a James Younger in Williamson County 1011001-122011, a John Younger in B-15 County01010001-0020001, a Josephus Younger in SM-299 County, 001101-0200011, a Thomas Younger in Williamson County, 2220001-011001 and a Willaim Younger in MU-359 County, 110001-12001. It would appear a the clan suddenly left Virginia and headed South to Tennessee. West Tennessee was purchased from the Indians about 1817 and then the gov made a big push to pull in settler's. Maybe this is why they left. Carroll County's 1850, 1860 and 1870 Census shows the following: note: year, house no., family no. 1850 1099 1099 William A. It's strange we do not find Williamson in the 1870 Census. The folks told us his wife Louisa Patten was buried in Atwood. They think the separate Cemetaries is because in those days when the red clay roads were went you didn't get very far on them, 6 miles fromMcLemoresville to Atwood. At the museum, this very nice lady, 80, Mildred Moore milmoore@aneas.com who works part time as a volunteer said Louisa Patten 's father was William Patten who died in the civil war. At the Pisgah Cemetary we did not find Louisa's grave. We did find the following: Charlie E. Younger b May 12m 1895 killed in Argonme Forest France. Oct 28, 1918.
