My grandfather was David Lonzo Jacks, and the family story goes that Frank James (and some say Cole Younger was with him) visited my grandparents at Plainville, GA (about 6 miles north of Rome) in the late 1800s, after Frank had been pardoned by the Governor of Missouri. My question was "Why?" And I was told that the James brothers and my grandfather were cousins. I have not been able to come up with any family connection, and now wonder if the relationship was with my grandmother, Arminta "Minnie" McDaniel, whose mother was a Rice.
