I couldn't believe that I wrote a note that said the following "took me all day." And then there was nothing there. So here goes again. DESCENDANTS OF WILLIAM YOUNGER AND MARY MOLLY WATKINS. Note: I include end notes with this rather than documenting each detail. I 'm am beginning with William and Mary "Molly" Watkins, because I have never been able to document their relationship to Thomas, as there were two Williams on the tax rolls and in the census of 1782 and 1790. 1. WILLIAM YOUNGER (no birth date has been recorded) died Bet. 1797 and 1803 in Halifax County, VA. M. MARY "MOLLY" WATKINS, daughter of WILLIAM WATKINS and MARY. (Endnote 1) Mary married Stephen Huddleston after William died. (2a) Children of WILLIAM YOUNGER and MARY WATKINS are: 2. i. WILLIAMSON YOUNGER, b. abt. 1780, d. Dec. 02, 1817, Halifax, VA ii. ELIZABETH "BETSY" YOUNGER, m. ARMISTEAD BOMAR (2b) iii. THOMAS YOUNGER, d. after 1815, Halifax, VA; m. SARAH BROWN, April 30, 1804 (2c) iv. MARY YOUNGER, m. JOSHUA COATS, August 13, 1804 (2d) v. JAMES YOUNGER b. 1802 (3) Note: There is no marriage record for a James Younger in Halifax County General Index to Marriages until 1841, when a James Younger marries a Sarah Walthall.(2e) The James Younger (son of Thomas?) who went to Spartanburg County, SC was born in 1789, a good thirteen years before the above James. vi. CATHERINE "CATHY" YOUNGER m. JOSHUA FUQUA Jan. 17, 1815 (2f) Armistead Younger was made guardian of Cathy in 1809. I have an 1804 birthdate from somewhere for her, but that would have made her eleven yrs. old at her marriage, and that one I doubt....maybe fourteen, so I'm guessing she was born in about 1801, give or take. vii. SARAH "SALLY" YOUNGER d. between Feb. 23, 1811 and April 22, 1812. (4) Never married. viii. JOHN YOUNGER, m. LUCY FRANKLIN, June 11, 1816 (2g) Lucy was daughter of REBECCA YOUNGER and JOHN FRANKLIN, who married in 1793 (2h) First cousin marriage? ix. JOSEPHUS YOUNGER m Elizabeth (?) (5) 2. WILLIAMSON YOUNGER m MARY BOMAR daughter of Bibby Bomar and unknown, undocumented woman, March 24, 1802. (2i) Williamson died in 1817, in his thirties. Children of WILLIAMSON and MARY BOMAR YOUNGER: i. WILLIAM YOUNGER b. abt. 1803. m PRISCILLA JONES, Oct. 8, 1822 (2j) ii. JAMES YOUNGER b. abt. 1810. m. SARAH B; d. 1835 in his twenties. MS February 7,1849. They settled in Atwood,TN where he died August 30, 1892. (7) . Married (2) IDA BOMAR in Atwood,TN and is buried there, probably in Pisgah Cemetery where my gg grandmother Louisa Patton Younger is buried. John Henry used the names CAGE and YOUNGER interchangeably as it was convenient. If he needed money in Halifax, he was a YOUNGER; otherwise he kept the name CAGE and never told his descendants until Ruth Ann and Charles and I got together. We did a lot of correspondence privately, but where it is now....I'll never know. Children of ARMISTEAD and REBECCA CREWS YOUNGER: i. Mary b. 18837 d. aft. 1880 m. John J. Dawson ii.
