Wilma H- This is long but I wanted it in one post. I will start with the latest in this line and work backwards. I am not listing the sources seperately because some of it is repeated. The source is the Will abstracts and family histories, as follows. 1. Mary Marsh b abt 1703 Kent, Md; m James Maxwell; parents: 2. John Marsh b abt 1682; d abt 1682; m 24 Jun 1703 Kent, Md. Elinor Anderson b abt 1682; d aft 1723; parents: -Marsh, John, physician, d. c1723. He m. Elinor Anderson on 24 Jun 1703. {Kesp} On 22 Jun 1709, John Marsh late of CE Co., [now KE Co.] chirurgeon, and his wife Elinor, conv. to Philip Raisin of KE Co., planter, parcels of land in Steelepone Creek formerly of CE Co., one of which on the n. side of the creek, 100 a., which on 14 Mar 1704 was sold by Philip Davis and his wife Tabitha to sd. John Marsh, and another parcel of 50 a. which was by William Wells of CE Co. and his wife Ann sold to sd. John March. All 150 a. were part of Staveleys Hope. {Kelr JSN:71} John March, physician, d. leaving a will dated 23 Oct 1723 (date of probate not given). Mentioned were mother-in-law Mary Anderson; dau. Mary Maxwell; bro. Charles (L20 to be paid him in London); Humphrey Younger; his three sisters, Elizabeth Locket, Mary Wilks, and Hannah March; William Graves; Mary Harper (dau. of sister Ann Doyn); aunt Elizabeth Quick of Lime House, London; and granddau. --- Maxwell (under the age of 16);now living son of Johannah Dehaws (under age of 21). Son in law James Maxwell, exec., and Mary his wife, residue of estate. {Mwb 18:219} The inventory of his estate was taken 3 Jul 1724 and filed 20 Sep 1724 by James Maxwell. It mentioned Mathew Day, Ann Day, Humphrey Younger, Robert Meaks, and George Weatherly. {Minv 10:220} [Family History: Colonial Families of Maryland, 1600s-1900s: Colonial Families of the Eastern Shore, Vol. 3, The Marsh Family, Page 265.] 3. Henry Anderson d bef 1728 Kent, Md; m Mary Younger b abt 1660; d 1728 Kent, Md: -Anderson, Henry, d. by 12 Oct 1731. Mary Anderson, widow and relict of Henry Anderson of KE Co., on 12 Oct 1732, age c112, dep. regarding the bounds of Leaven Ham; she recalled that about 50 years earlier her husband, Henry Anderson, and a John James, showed her a bounded tree on Long Point now called Joneses Point. {Kelr JS#16:} A widow, she d. leaving a will dated 12 Mar 1728 and proved 1 Aug 1735. Named were Alexander Wilson and her bro. Humphrey Younger, who was the exec. The will was witnessed bt Walter walters, Ann Usherwood, and Richard Bentham. {Mwb 21:701} The inventory of her estate was taken on 28 Sep 1735 and filed 3 Nov 1735 by Humphrey Younger, exec. Next of kin were John Younger and James Younger. {Minv 22:114} [Family History: Colonial Families of Maryland, 1600s-1900s: Colonial Families of the Eastern Shore, Vol. 3, The William Anderson Family (2), Page 22-23.] SOURCE:-Maryland Calendar of Wills, Vol. 8. Now, can you agree that this is not Mary Younger who was daughter of Thomas Younger and Anna Smith? That Mary was b 1690 and could not have a daughter (Elinor Anderson) marrying in 1703! So we can detach Mary and Humphrey from that line and try and find their parents. What do you think??? Linda in KC
I will need a little time to digest this information but I am delighted to receive it. Thank you. JYG wrote: > Wilma H- > This is long but I wanted it in one post.
