I found the marriage of Thomas to Rachel Hendrick in three different sources -- two said HENDRICK and one said KENDRICK -- I opted to go with two out of three. I seem to remember vaguely that someone checked Georgia records and found both surnames -- so -- who knows for sure? ----- Original Message ----- From: Wilma Norton <wilma@softcom.net> To: <YOUNGER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, August 17, 2001 10:28 PM Subject: Re: [YOUNGER] Thomas Younger-Mary Nalle > I fixed the census note -- I don't have a Rebecca mar to John Smith in my > file. Wilma & Linda, The reason I continue to research both Hendrick and Kendrick and even Kindrick is because I have found Kendricks to be in the same areas as the Youngers. A William and a Martin Kendrick are in the 1790 Chatham Co., census. William, John & Thomas Kendrick are in the 1820 census of Maury Co., per James Russell's research. Though I don't seem to be able to make a family connection, Kendricks are in Wilks Co., GA. during the time Thomas and Rachel were married. I have only two documentation of Rachel and each has her surname as Hendrick. Interestingly though, I have marriage verification from both Wilks Co., GA. and Wilkenson Co., GA.
