Dear Linda, In no way was I faulting you for the information. You made it very clear what the source was and that's why I tried to validate the information against what I had in Ms Hutchin's research. Please don't stop offering things you find to share with us. It's the only way we can separate the wheat from the chaff and I think we are doing a really great job of that on this List. In checking back I have found instances where I have made double entries and other errors. This is helping me get my data base better and better and I appreciate everyone's input. If you notice, I am always about two days behind everybody else and I never have time left over to do research on the Internet so I am very grateful that the rest of you share your finds with me. Wilma, I did not think you were faulting me, but thanks for the nice note, you made my day. I was hoping I was helping someone, that is my goal. On one of the forums I was somewhat chastised for something I posted on Humphrey Younger. (I think I explained about loosing a lot of my sources in a pc meltdown and in a GEDcom transfer that lost the sources field.) Anyway, to make a long story short I have thought that Humphrey came from Scotland from the records I had. I am having to backtrack to try and find them once again. I also noted many descendants of Humphrey used the name Alexander. Cole Younger is of that line and had red hair and I guess that has stuck in my mind as well, as most of my family were Scot-Irish, hence the red hair. A German connection has never shown itself to me. In my making this statement I realized that there were two groups on the forum: those who connect to the German side, and those to the Scots. I never meant to offend the Scot side with my reference to Humphrey. The Younger research I had done up to this time was purely on my own and this was my first attempt to join in any group discussion. I meant no harm nor to step on any toes. I also am not trying to make Cole Younger a Scotsman, whaever he was I want only his true heritage. Anyway, forgive me if I seem a little thin skinned right now, but that is why. I have a lot of notes that my mother wrote down since 1964 and there are no sources. At that time we did not comprehend anything like the interest in genealogy of today and certainly never dreamed of computerized exchanges! So, she left me in 1995 with boxes of paper and reams of legal pads of jotted notes that some make NO sense at all. I am still going through boxes. Most of her work was done thru the US Post office, hired genealogists and family members. Most of which did not recite their sources either. :( Hopefully this can be put behind us now and we can get on with more research! Thankyou again for the encouragement, I was beginning to feel a little unwelcomed in a new place. Linda in KCMO
