Listed below is one of my sources for Henry Younger being born in Scotland. "Biographical Appendix, Pg. 792, History of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Physicians & Surgeons Dr. William H. H. Younger Prominent among the leading physicians and surgeons of El Dorado Springs stands the name of the above mentioned gentleman who was born in Orange County, N. C. in 1815, being the son of the Rev. Robert A. and Edith (Horn) Younger, natives of Baltimore, Md. and Orange County, N. C. respectively. They were married in the last named county and in 1830 removed to Boone County, Mo., where they were among the earliest settlers. There Mrs. Younger died and Mr. Younger afterward married Mrs. Wallace of Chariton County, and in that county spent the balance of his life. He died in 1867. He was a Methodist minister of considerable ability, was also a life-long teacher and was in the War of 1812 with Gen. Harrison. His father, Capt. Henry Younger, was a Scotchman, and was captain of the Navy Yard at Baltimore, Md. for many years. He died in Orange County, N. C." I also have a letter from Robert Anderson to his youngest daughter but at present can't locate it. If you have actual documentation on Henry's birth in Maryland, please let me know. Perhaps I need to begin a different search. Donna Green Nash
Was the Wallace who married 2nd Robert Anderson Younger a Mrs. Wallace? I have his second wife as Idress Craig. Together they had a daughter Julia Bennetta b 1856. Perhaps this was also her second marriage????? Have been enjoying all the back and forth on this list. Decided to state my relationship to Youngers. I am descended through Katharine Sarah Younger, daughter of Milton T. Younger, son of Charles Younger and first wife Nancy Toney. Katharine Sarah Younger, b 1 Dec 1825, MO, married Robert Milton Wallace on 24 Oct 1843 in MO. They had 9 children, including my gggrandmother, Hannah Arent Wallace b 26 Jan 1850. Hannah married Amos Barton Cheatham on 19 Aug 1870 in Denton Co., TX. Hannah & Amos had 10 children, including my g-grandfather, Silas Terry Cheatham. Are there any more of Milton Younger's descendants out there? Katharine Sarah Younger Wallace died 22 Dec 1891 in Gordon, Palo Pinto County, Texas. Gaye Lynn Stanga gstanga@telocity.com
