Sometimes people would refer to themselves as "Scots" or "German" even tho' they were born in the U.S.A. I think they were referring to their heritage, not their birth. Especially true if they were first generation and still had the accent, or difficulty with the language, people might assume they were born in another country, and refer to them as "Scots", etc. Wilma (Norton) -- don't have documentation for you either way.
