The name Pig's branch of Bear Creek struck a note with me and I looked back into my file and that family (James/Anna/Thomas/etc/etc/) are associated with that location. Could the earliest references be of the Halifax family? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wilma (Younger) Norton" <wilma.norton@cox.net> To: <younger@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 02, 2009 4:56 PM Subject: Re: [YOUNGER] Miscellanea >I have no proof to offer, but there was a James/Anna Nash with a son > Thomas/Mary Nall who were in Chatham County during this time frame. > > James Younger sold land to John McCaslin, and his (James' son, John,) > married a Rebecca McCaslin, possibly a daughter of John McCaslin. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Wilma C. I have no proof to offer, but there was a James/Anna Nash with a son Thomas/Mary Nall who were in Chatham County during this time frame. James Younger sold land to John McCaslin, and his (James' son, John,) married a Rebecca McCaslin, possibly a daughter of John McCaslin. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wilma C. So according to F.O.T.Y.(my book) page 22.top, It says Joseph Younger who left a will dated 14 Sept.1790 and probated 29 Nov. 1790(Kent County Will Book 7, p.299.) Joseph bequeathed all the land in dispute between John Kennard and me to my beloved son, Isaac Younger." Isaac was executor of his estate on Feb. 27,1800. He married Marie Randall in 1801 and in 1808 the marriage was apparently short lived because in the Kent County Settlement of Estates Bk. 12, p.60 Heneritta is the administrator of Isaac Younger estate. This transpired in the Kent County Orphan's Court 1808 term. "Further time craved" What does that mean?(So did he die or run off?) So he or another Isaac was in Kentucky in 1807. Because in 1808 Heneritta was the administrator of the estate or like Wilma Norton said she was a Henerittia Marie Randall possibly. Unless this Heneritta(Harriett) was his daughter? He did have a daughter, Harriett? And Marie Randall could have died.(And she might not have necessar! ily been the mother of Heneritta or Harriett?) Now Isaac Jr.(tax list below) could be the Isaac born in 1806. Who did Isaac.Sr. marry in KY? Is that known? In F.O.T.Y. (my book) p.248 Bullitt County marriages.(all say Daughter of Isaac, except last one) Jan. 23, 1840 Elizabeth Younger to Worden P. Masden; 05 Mar 1840 Louisa Jane Younger to Ephraim Dragoo. 18 Nov. 1847 Martha Younger to Wm. J. Troutman.( Daughter of Isaac Younger,Jr.) I see 04 Nov. 1822 Isaac Younger to Ellen Younger?(whose Younger wife was this?) So who was Isaac married to from 1807-1808 till 1822? ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com

What follows are notes from the research on this family by me and another Bullitt County researcher I worked with. There is additional information on the children of this Isaac, but I have not had time to organize and put in computer. 1. Isaac Younger Sr. is on Bullitt Co. tax list from 1813 to 1847. He has two children 7 to 17 in 1840, and is taxed for 200 acres on Cane Run in 1847. (Bullitt Co. tax Books 1798-1867. Note: according to the deposition in the case file, Harriett claimed her father, Isaac, deeded this land to her as she agreed to care for him in his old age. Henry claimed the land was his and that he obtained the patent for his father. An Isaac Younger married Henrietta Maria Randall, 31 Jan 1801 in Kent Co. Maryland. This could be same Isaac Younger (See Younger bible record: 1981 Ky Ancestors V16-3. p. 153.) In the FOTY book, page 254, there is a marriage listed for Isaac Younger to Henrietta Maria Randall dated 31 Jan 1801......so, I'm wondering if the Marie Randall and Heneritta named below were not the same person? The book says the marriage took place in Queen Ann Co. MD. Since the book does not give the source for this, I don't know where she (Marguarette) found it, but I believe she was a careful researcher. And, if Isaac died ca. 1808, then he would not have been the father of the Henry in 1880 census, if he was born 1816. The only Henry I found in 1880 Bullitt, (Pine Tavern) census was Henry age 69 KY MD KY and I believe this would make him born ca. 1811. His wife was Sarah. I have not been able to connect this Henry to parents. There is also a Richard Younger in Pine Tavern census, age 31 KY KY KY with a family and I believe he could possibly be the son of the above named Henry and Sarah, but have no proof. Also in Pine Tavern, Bullitt was James and Harriet (Garr) Younger and their family, and it's possible the Richard named above was his son. I got this query from Genealogy.com and the more I looked at all the Isaacs, the more I wasn't sure who the father of Isaac Younger of Bullit County was? The Isaac in Maryland, son of Joseph Younger, married Marie Randall and Heneritta was the was the administrator of his estate in 1808. But Henery Younger,(page 66,my F.O.T.Y.) in the 1880 Bullitt County census, son of Isaac lists Maryland as the place of birth of his father and KY as the place of birth of his mother. So did Isaac and Marie Randall have an Isaac or was there a different one? I got this e-mail from a man who is looking for Martha Jean Younger. Anyone know anything about her. From: Don Howard [mailto:don_a_howard@comcast.net] Sent: Tue 2/3/2009 9:15 PM To: Judy Foley Subject: Martha Jean Younger Judy, Found one of your posts on the Younger-L list mentioning Martha Jean Younger. Can you help me with this photo? Our family records say that this is a picture of Carl Howard (my father's first cousin) and Martha Jean Younger, giving an address: 1502 1/2 South 9th Street, Alhambra, California. Carl Howard was a pro basketball player, part of a barnstorming team that traveled all over the country. His home was Indianapolis, IN, but we know he was in California from time to time. We're not sure of the date of this photo, but early 1930s is a good guess and that fits with the age of your Martha Jean Younger. Of course I know that your Marta Jean was born in 1928 in Shelby Co., TN, so it might be altogether the wrong person, but I can't find any other Martha Jean Younger of the appropriate age in the 1930 census. We also don't have a clue as to the possible relationship between Carl Howard and the Younger family, unless they somehow met through his basketball connections. My apolog! ies if I've got the wrong Younger family. Thanks, Don thing? ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com
Thanks so much for the info, ladies. Joyce
I think your observation is quite valid. At first I wondered if Ann Younger could have been a sister to Capt. John Younger. The spread in time between the births of the two families kind of leaves a big hole in that. There was 43 years between their births. Ann Younger's child was 43 years older than John's child, Willis. I think it is a good clue and maybe we should check on ancillary Willis's. ----- Original Message ----- From: "ginger40220" <ginger40220@peoplepc.com> To: <younger@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, January 31, 2009 3:26 PM Subject: Re: [YOUNGER] Marriage Records > Wilma, this message informs us that Willis and Younger families are > connected.
