I would love to finf some DNA on the Humphrey Younger/Rachael Lytle group and Nimrod family. There were some other Youngers down around Saline, McCleansboro. I couldn't account for at the time. Here is an obit from Bob Ferguson's site which has Nehemiah dying in Pope County, IL. Which isn't too far fetched because Nimrod Younger lived and died in Saline County,IL and my gg grandfather, John B. Younger lived one county up from him in McCleansboro, IL and Pope County, IL is one county down from Saline. I don't know where Bob got this as seems like I looked on that site and they didn't start keeping death records till after this date. Also living in or close to Pope County, IL are the who I call Crittendon County, KY Youngers. I found them in one of those counties (some time back) close to Pope and since they also came from Maryland and seem to live in places where my family also lived. I wouldn't discount them as possible relatives, either. Like most genealogical puzzles, there are complications - I have only been able to find one Nehemiah Younger and according to the records he was married three times. He m Hannah Osborn 22 Jun 1787 in Anne Arundel, MD He m 2nd Rachel Lytle 15 Sep 1793 Baltimore, MD (1st Methodist Episcopal Church) He m 3rd Trissy Taylor 10 Nov 1803 Anne Arundel, MD Which brings us to the complication of a relationship with Humphrey to Nehemiah of Muskingum, OH. The Humphrey closely associated with Nehemiah was born before any of the marriges (17 Mar 1782) What was the relationship between Nehemiah, and Humphrey? Father and Son? or Brothers? When we read the will of Arthur Miller, it can be interpreted that Humphrey might be the son of Nehemiah. Colonial Families of the Eastern Shore, p. 260,261 The author, Peden, writes about Humphrey Younger, Sr. and that essay goes to the middle of page 261. It then says: Second Generation. It then lists second son of Humphrey, Sr. and says : Humphrey Younger,KE CO., son of Humphrey (1), married 1st to Ann(N)unknown and 2nd to Mary(N). It then lists the will of Arthur Miller to Nehemiah and Humphrey. In Peden is saying that Humphrey Younger,Jr. married an Ann. Ann could have been Arthur Miller's daughter or sister. If Ann were his first wife, she could have died before 1753 when Humphrey Younger, and wife Mary conveyed to John Kennard a piece of land called Sole. ????? I also thank you for this info. This is the family in Muskingum County Ohio that my Karl Heinrich Juenger/Charles Henry Younger Sr moved in with when he came over from Germany. He met and married Elizabeth Lowery there in Muskingum. He was in the same age general age group as Humphreys children. Marriage records that I found in Zanesville during a trip there indicate that my Charles (2 Feb 1831), Rebecca (1 Apr 1828), John (13 Oct 1836), Mary (1 Apr 1838), Lucinda (12 Jan 1843) and Delinda (28 Dec 1843) were all married in the same Lutheran Church, altho by five different ministers. Most of the info cited here agrees with what I have, altho some dates while having the same day and month have a different year. Still leaves me with the same old question tho. Why would a young German speaking only man named Juenger, come to America and go straight into the wilds of 1823 Muskingum County and move in with a family named Younger for a period of 8 to 10 years? Also, I found Adeline H. Younger, age 52, m33y 5-4 ch IL NY IN and she had a son, George B. living with her. He was born Sept. 1885, age 14 CO IL OH. On Find A Grave it gives dates for Adeline 1847 - 1933; Charles E. 1867 - 1940; Lucy L. 1873 -1936 and William 1841 - 1903. I have to wonder about that one though, as Adeline was shown as head of household in 1910. It's possible they divorced, but unusual for those times.
