Hi Leni, My grandfather's older brother's middle name was Marion (after Francis Marion, a Revolutionary War hero). He did not like either his first or middle name and was called Dot or James. Joshua was a name use in the Lane family to honor Joshua Kelley who fought under Andrew Jackson in the War of 1812. Joshua Kelley was Matilda Lane's father. Wilma, I thought maybe the test had been done with "a private company" and then submitted to Ancestry. But I see what you're saying about only the group that tested or signed up being able to view the results on Ancestry. So, it didnt have anything to do with the company he tested with, just with privacy policies I guess. Thanks for explaining. Wilma, I am glad you found him.Like I said... it was off the top of my head real quick :) I just did a flip through in my document notebooks.Looking at the STATE & Federal census sheets I have on the Leonard Younger I mentioned ( Son of Joshua M Younger ) ( Grandson of William Green Younger ) . For some reason I still have it stuck in my head that this Leonard's middle name was also "Earl" named after Joshua M's brother Earl Younger. Leonard's Uncle...(Earl = Fran's Grandpa ) The census sheets I just looked at do not show a middle initial listed.So now I have no idea why this popped into my head :).But I will keep looking....maybe on a war card??? Now it will drive me nuts...lol,trying to figure out :) But what can I expect when everybody in this entire family used the same names over and over :) . I just ran a quick search on "John Adam Younger" and so far I can not find any connection that jumps out at me. If I find anything I will send it along. RESIDENCE: From the Internet, not personally validated to date: Stark voted in the Election of Burgesses for Essex County in 1765. By April 1764 he had established himself in Cumberland County, VA. He married Catherine Price sometime before 27 Nov. 1771, the date of her father's will, in which he bequeathed one half interest in 200 acres of land in Cumberland County, VA to his son in law, Starke. In Feb. 1777 Starke sold his interest in this property and one month later bought land further west in Halifax County. DNA is a wonderful and marvelous thing...however my spine got a bit tingly when I noticed that Nimrod had a land transaction in Franklin County, KY where John Younger lived at the time. By DNA we have sort of connected the dots for the various Youngers who settled in and around Kentucky but we haven't found the key piece that connects them to each other and perhaps into a family. Surely, there must be some connecting link somewhere. I guess we just have to keep trying and looking. Maybe DNA will do it for us.
