    2. I have asked you several other times but have not received a reply.......how do you document that Henry Younger was born in Md. What documentation do you have? All my information points to his birth in Scotland. Donna Green Nash

    1. [YOUNGER] Halifax Co. Va Cemeteries.
    2. Greetings, I have vols. 1 and 2 of George Calvin Waldreps "Halifax County (Virginia) Cemeteries." These 2 vols. contain the names and locations of over 300 cemeteries located in Halifax County Virginia. The books contain inscriptions from gravestones found in these 300 plus graveyards. Information containing surname, given name, date of birth, date of death, etc., was copied from the graves Mr. Waldrep stated in Vol. 2 that he had info on about 80 more cemeteries in Halifax Co, that he did not get to cover, so these two books do not cover all cemeteries in Halifax Co Va. ------------------------------------ I also have a booklet : "Tombstone Inscriptions taken from Private Cemeteries In Halifax County, Virginia vol. 1" Compiled by Kenneth Harvey Cook. the date on the booklet is November 1969. The booklet is 40 pages long, and contains info on about 54 cemeteries. The cemeteries tend to be small. In this booklet, I found about 9 cemeteries not covered in George Calvin Waldreb IIIs "Halifax Co. (VA) Cemeteries" books. I will do surname lookups. In order to not clog up this list for those not interested, I will not answer requests posted to this list. Please, send your requests to me at: lchand3835@aol.com Larry

    3. Reading all that you have searched has been very helpful. I am searching for the father of William Younger born 1816 in NC. Lived in Lincoln Co. Ky from a very young age. Was apprecenticed to Wm. Daughtery and married Elizabeth Daughtery 1-1-1837. Found in the 1850 census in Sommerset, Pulaski Co Ky. Migrated to Mason Co. Ill and settled in Sangamon Co. Ill. Fathered 10 children (that I am able document). Family names usual repeats: Josiah, Newton Jasper, Barry, Wm. T. John Quincy, Adam and Benjamin Franklin. Family lore states that Newton was the seventh generation born in the US. Question: the marriages that Bownie posted in June lists a Josiah Younger who married Eliza in 1791. Did they stay in Va or move south? Any help will be sincerely appreciated. Bette Andres

    3. Sometimes people would refer to themselves as "Scots" or "German" even tho' they were born in the U.S.A. I think they were referring to their heritage, not their birth. Especially true if they were first generation and still had the accent, or difficulty with the language, people might assume they were born in another country, and refer to them as "Scots", etc. Wilma (Norton) -- don't have documentation for you either way. Just my "opinion". ----- Original Message ----- From: <Dgreennash@aol.com> To: <YOUNGER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, July 30, 2001 8:49 AM Subject: [YOUNGER] Henry Younger - MD or Scotland? > Listed below is one of my sources for Henry Younger being born in Scotland. > "Biographical Appendix, Pg. 792, History of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, > Physicians & Surgeons > Dr. William H.
