    3. If you, Linda, have been able to connect the Gang Youngers to either the Maryland or the Virginia family, I will be your first customer. I have tried every way but Sunday and have still not made the connection. As I see American Youngers we have * Alexander (no. 1) who disappeared from Maryland after defrauding his wife and probably had a family somewhere, as yet unidentified * The Essex/Halifax County Youngers. We've done a pretty good job on Halifax County but there is a lot yet undone on those that never left Essex County * The Maryland Youngers - Humphrey et al * The German Youngers represented on the List * We musn't forget the Younger Quakers - they have not been dealt with. * The descendants of John and Elizabeth who immigrated in the late 1600s (MD) leaving wills and descendants (I am especially intrigued by them but records are sparse) * Mixed in with all of these are the few that have slipped onto the immigration lsits without making any splash - Lewis Younger would be an example. * Lastly, we had better consider the descendants of the mullatto slave of Charles Younger who is well known to us. Very little work has been done on them although descendants lately have been coming forward. I don't know about you but the whole thing boggles my mind. I applaud your motives but I grow exhausted just thinking about it. Youngers in America are an exciting, interesting tale of American history. I never grow bored with tracking them. Don't be discouraged by my remarks, just take a deep breath and go for it knowing what you are in for. Among other things, it contained 5 women, by whom Charles Lee Younger had children. Here, I am supposing you refer to Elizabeth Simpson's two children: Catharine Frances and Simpson Charles. (I have some on their descendants if anyone is interested.) There were two more children by his black slave, Fanny: Nathan and Washington. I have not seen anything posted on them. Are there any known descendants out there. These last two were born sometime before 1852 in Jackson County, Mo. Fanny was b 1817 and died sometime after 1855 Osceola, St. Clair, Mo. Linda in KCMO

    3. To the list: This will NOT happen again, but seems Brownie is not going to leave ma alone no matter where I go, sop lets get this over with.... please accept my apologies... Brownie: You already know we disagree on this subject and I am not getting into a heated debate about it. No one has given me proof that Humphrey Younger was or was not the brother of Alexander and Andrew Younger, sons of Thomas Younger-Anna Nash, and this is where I believe the "Younger Brothers" connect to "your" Virginia Youngers. Until I am shown documented proof otherwise, my opinions are strictly that and firmly stated as that, and everyone I work with knows it. We are all seeking the truth. No one wants someone elses ancestry. What good would that do? Looks to me like you are afraid to be connected to these outlaws, but worse things could happen... And yes, I am working on a book and have been for eight years; and working on genealogy since 1964. Again, I state that I lost a great deal of documentation in two pc problems. I am working HARD to retrieve what was lost. No, I did not have proof then of Humphrey's ancestry, that I can recall. I might like to add that I worked on the MIMS and WOODSON lists and gave them my GEDcom files when I was "finished" working on those lines. I am not just sitting back here collecting everyone elses data and I hope this list feels I am contributing. ALL of the people who have helped me are being given credit, where credit is due. Now, I have a question for you.... Why are you attacking me so, with your hurtful comments, you do NOT know me? I have seen you also treat others with disrespect, who do not agree with you. Don't answer....there is a time and place for everything and this is not it. You have the option to "ignore" my posts and others who do not share your views. I have nothing further to say to you and I want to state my apology to the list for this.... again. 3. Part ONE This email will be in sections as to not make it too long, but any Miller researcher will probably want to "disect" this information. 3. If I recall correctly, at the end of my message, I remarked that I had no more documentation for Maryland than you had for Scotland. It was part of the research of Marguerite Hutchins which I compiled. I found her to be a very cautious and competent researcher so I put the conflicting information in my "to be documented" category. Sorry if you perceived that I was "making a statement" from which I would not retreat. I just need concrete documentation one way or another. 3. Just curious...why are you NC researchers jealous of us who have VA ties? Halifax and Pittsylvania are just over the current line from NC/SC. They were all part of one big area years ago. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Dgreennash@aol.com> To: <YOUNGER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, July 30, 2001 12:08 PM Subject: Re: [YOUNGER] Henry Younger - MD or Scotland? > > Thank you, Wilma. Your logic, as always, is to the point. I will try to contact Keith Younger for a copy of the letter from Robert Anderson Younger to his daughter, Julia. I believe it also listed Scotland. > > On another note, believe me you have no idea how jealous all of us Henry(NC) researchers are of you with ties to VA. > > Again, Thanks much. > Donna Green Nash > > > > ==== YOUNGER Mailing List ==== > As we get older, we find out we are YOUNGER (Submitted by Karen Yerby) > > ============================== > Search over 1 Billion names at Ancestry.com! > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/rwlist1.asp > >

    1. [YOUNGER] Looking for email address
    2. I am looking for the email address of Keith Younger. He emailed me several weeks ago as I was leaving for vacation and I have lost his address. I think I am getting too old or had a senior moment or something. Thanks, Donna Green Nash

    2. Donna Green Nash

    1. [YOUNGER] Henry Younger - MD or Scotland?
    2. Listed below is one of my sources for Henry Younger being born in Scotland. "Biographical Appendix, Pg. 792, History of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Physicians & Surgeons Dr. William H. H. Younger Prominent among the leading physicians and surgeons of El Dorado Springs stands the name of the above mentioned gentleman who was born in Orange County, N. C. in 1815, being the son of the Rev. Robert A. and Edith (Horn) Younger, natives of Baltimore, Md. and Orange County, N. C. respectively. They were married in the last named county and in 1830 removed to Boone County, Mo., where they were among the earliest settlers. There Mrs. Younger died and Mr. Younger afterward married Mrs. Wallace of Chariton County, and in that county spent the balance of his life. He died in 1867. He was a Methodist minister of considerable ability, was also a life-long teacher and was in the War of 1812 with Gen. Harrison. His father, Capt. Henry Younger, was a Scotchman, and was captain of the Navy Yard at Baltimore, Md. for many years. He died in Orange County, N. C." I also have a letter from Robert Anderson to his youngest daughter but at present can't locate it. If you have actual documentation on Henry's birth in Maryland, please let me know. Perhaps I need to begin a different search. Donna Green Nash

    2. Brownie, Sorry, I was sending a post to answer one from Wilma but didn't finish it. She has my Henry born in Maryland and I would really like to know what documentation she uses because I may be at a standstill because she is right and I am wrong. Donna Green Nash
