    1. [YOUNGER] Christina Younger and Robert Huffman
    2. Clifford D. Younger, Sr.
    3. The following is from the 1870 West Virginia, Kanawha County, Jefferson Township, Coalsmouth Post Office Census Enumeration taken on 11 Jul 1870, page 135B lines 24 thru 27. Items in { } are not on Census but are my corrections/additions: 24 Younger C.H. {Charles Henry, Sr.}, age 66 {69}, white, male, Occ: Stone Mason, born Prussia, Father and Mother foreign born, male eligible to vote 25 Younger, Elizabeth {Nee Lowry}, age 54, white, female, Occ: keeping house, born Virginia, mother foreign born {parents still UNK} 26 Huffman, Robert, age 22, male, white, Occ: Blacksmith, male eligible to vote 27 Huffman, Christina, age 22 {19}, white, female, Occ: Keeping house Christina is child number 8 of 10. She married Robert Huffman 12 May 1870 in Gallia County Ohio (just across the river from Mason County WVa). Her parents had resided in Mason Co approx 30 years. They apparently moved to Kanawha Co between the 12 may 1870 marriage date and the 11 Jul 1870 census date. The reason for the move was more than likely due to adverse reaction from folks in that area at the end of CH Younger Jrs murder trial and conviction. CHY Jr was an older brother of Christina and my greatgrand father. Christina's full name is either Virginia Christina Younger or Christina Virginia Younger. I have seen and possess documents (I.E. court records, census records, marriage papers etc) that refer to her both ways. Have found no record of any of these four people after this census record. Believe CHY Sr died abt 1879/80, cause of death was he blew hisself up accidently while digging a well using dynamite (at least that is the time line and story given by family lore from one of Christina's sisters descendants in Cabool Missouri. No death record or cemetery yet found.) Can anyone locate any of them on 1880 census ? Suspect they will be found under Huffman (Hoffman ?) as head of household and possibly have Elizabeth Younger living with them. I have been to local LDS library and looked at microfilm til eyeballs are bloodshot. Hoping some one with access to newer online indexed records will have better luck and can direct me to the correct Census pages. Thanks in advance guys (girls) for any help you can give. CY

    3. I moved to regular Compuserve to see if my e-mails would go through better. I've been sending on Outlook Express and having problems. So, Wilma Hillman, I don't know what you got from me this morning and what you didn't. But I wanted you to know quickly that Lillamae Younger Ellis was my mom. Her grandmother was Lilly Barry, who married Edward McGary McKisick. They were the parents of Stella Brown McKisick (Miss Brownie, for whom I'm named). They all lived in TX. My grandfather, Williamson Henry Younger, was born in Longton, KS, after his parents, James Williamson and Rosalie Tennessee Carter Younger moved there BRIEFLY. They then moved on to Henrietta, Clay County, TX where they lived until they died. JW and Rosalie are buried in Henrietta Cemetery. My grandfather, Williamson Henry, married Stella McKisick in Blum, Tx. in Dec. 03, 1905. They lived in Bosque County for a while, where my mother was born on the McKisick ranch. Then they moved to Dallas, then to Euless. My mom was a cheerleader at Oak Cliff High School and graduated abt. 1931-32. Did you get the brief and sketchy Barry tree I sent you? You may get everything twice. Hope that clears some Barry things up for you. Brownie

    2. Wilma C. Hillman
    3. I forgot to answer the second part of the question. "Tomahawk" Thomas is a mystery man. We know when he was born and where he lived. We can track his marriages and his children but we haven't been able to connect him to a family -yet. The "Tomahawk" comes from the fact that he settled in "Tomahawk" Township when he settled in Arkansas. Nothing more violent than that! S. 3. I can only find one Anna Nash in my files. That doesn't mean there might not be others but I have no record of it. The only Anna Nash I have was b in Middlesex County VA, daughter of John Nash and Ann Brewer (Parish Register Christ Church 1653-1812) m James Younger b Essex County VA, son of Alexander and Rebecca Mills. Both died in Chatha County NC after 1801. S. 1. Re: [YOUNGER] Notes from Dreat Younger
    2. Wilma C. Hillman
    3. I don't disagree that Thomas, son of John and Sarah Kennard, could be the Rev War soldier but that's about as far as I can go. There is no evidence that Joshua and Thomas are related. Folks have been trying to stuff Joshua into that Maryland family ever since I started being interested in genealogy. In John Younger's will he does not name all of his children - he says "the rest of my children". I think it is a given that Kennard is one of the unnamed because of a legal action on the estate. However, Joshua swore on a Bible that he was born in VA, enlisted in Virginia, fought in Virginia, got a grant from Virginia, moved to Virginia (now KY). Do we really think he was kidding? Or did Sarah Kennard Younger sneak over into Virginia, have the baby and rush back to Maryland with some sense of accomplishment. I don't think so. It is irrational. That is why we must always stick to the documentation. If it is true, show me, I am willing to change my mind but undocumented drivvel just can't fly. It muddies the waters for generations to come. 1. [YOUNGER] Re: Milton T Youngerq
    2. Wilma C. Hillman
    3. I thought I would start a new thread. The other one was getting a bit crowded- According to my records (which are undocumented but came from descendants of Catherine Younger Wallace) Milton T. died in Howard County, MO. His place of death seems to be up for grabs or at the very least a bit more study and documentation. Nancy Toney (Toomey - it is seen in the same document spelled both ways) was the daughter of Alexander Toomey (see, I'm doing it too but that's because of the way it was spelled when I found it) and Ann Ashline. Her grandparents were Bishop Toney and Sarah Ashley of Virginia. Charles and Nancy had two surviving children Milton T and Elizabeth Darlisco. Charles didn't spend much time grieving over the death of his first wife but remarried and moved west - to fight Indians, I guess, or to find adventure, who knows? His 2nd wife apparently went with him. We know that from the birthplace of his child or children. I am now speaking from memory. The actual documents are in my possession but my desk is loaded with paper already and I am trying to clear some of it out. I can provide that at a later date if it is of any interest to you. Charles didn't stay too long on the frontier but returned to KY where other of his children were born. Since Milton and Elizabeth were not much more than babies I suspect his second wife cared for them and when the family moved to Missouri Milton was along. Catherine Sarah was born 1 Dec 1825 in MO and died 12 Dec 1891 in Gordon, Palo Pinto, TX. She married Robert Milton Wallace Jr 24 Oct 1843 in Cooper County, MO. He was born 13 May 1821 Howard County MO and died 21 Aug 1889 near Gordon, Palo Pinto TX Milton's wife Millie's parents were William Taylor b 1774 in KY and Rebecca Barnes She predeceased him and died between 1840 and 1850. He died 1 Nov 1867 in Cooper County MO After Milton died Milly moved back to her family home with her three children where she is enumerated in 1840 I think I know the letter you referenced. I also have a copy of it I suspect. After rambling about the weather and the price of corn, she remarks that the "boys" were in town and she didn't care much to have her sons having anything to do with them. Now just who do you think she was talking about?? I have a pretty good idea, don't you
