    2. Brownie.....We had this discussion on this list awhile back. Willie felt the names were separate and distinct. I can't remember if anyone came up with a case where they were both used...maybe this is one!

    2. That's what I thought, but looking over Brownie's e-mail, their son was Josephus. Did we determine that the two names (Joseph & Josephus) are used interchangably? 3. No, I think the same thing. I do believe they are separate and distinct. The problem lies with the transcribers, who missed the "us" on the end of Josephus and left it off. 3. CY- In the 1880 WV, Kanawha County, I searched the following Districts: 61, 62 and 63 with no Hoffman/Huffman nor Youngers. I looked in the AIS Index but no Robert Hoffman/Huffman was found in WV, but found 2 in Texas, but these were not yours either. I found the following, I believe to be your gr grandfather (?) and children by previous marriage, but you probably already have this: -1900 WV Marshall County, Washington District (237) 217 Tomlinson Avenue 500/414 13 Jun [Ed 78, Sh 20] Charles Younger head w m Jan 1845 55 M 18 OH OH OH coalminer/rents Eliza wife w f Mar 1855 45 M 18 2 0 SC SC SC Michael son w m Dec 1873 26 S WV OH OH coalminer Jud son w m Mar 1876 24 S WV OH OH coalminer > I was replying to your post (see very bottom Here). > You listed Nora L as born 1989, think you meant 1889. > Yes, this was a typo it does say 1889. :) > Third: > > You really gotta start getting more sleep !!! > The weather out her has been exceptionally hot this year and with a husband who works nights, we sleep days, hence my sending emails at all hours. 2. Brownie MacKie
    3. I'm going to try to determine something about the above names. I went to Ancestry.com today and typed in Joseph and Josephus Younger into the VA and the NC census indexes. We had Josephs and Josephuses all over the place. Seems that somebody told me that they were two different names, but I couldn't swear to it.

    1. [YOUNGER] funny thought
    2. S. Younger
    3. Okay - so normally I dislike puns, but does it strike anyone else as funny that this forum is frequented by a bunch of younger Youngers looking for our elder Youngers? Sorry about that - couldn't help myself. Stephen _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

    3. ..oops... CY you aren't the only one who has tired eyeballs! I think I will call it a night. The names were what I couldn't read, the dates all seemed clear. Maybe I should get the babyfood off my fingers before typing?? :) CY I also looked in the 1900 census index for MO but found no Youngers/Hoffman/Huffman in Cabool and will look for them in 1880, but I do not know of an 1880 census index online. They list townships but not Cabool. Do you know of another? This 1880 is not complete yet. If you find one (indax) ---do tell! Thanks. Linda in KC ----- Original Message ----- From: "Clifford D.
