Yup! "Sarah Ann Younger was born Dec. 19, 1852. Sally is obedient kind and affectionate, o Lord preserve her for good. Thank God all of my children are good and obedient. I have had much satisfaction with them." Yup! Tis she, tis she. I love that name Lydia Emeretta. "April 1, 1873 (from Williamson's diary) Paid to John C. Roach $170.00 for horse and gave the horse to his wife Lydia E. I also let Lydia E. Roach and J. C. Roach have a lot or piece of land that I bought J.. W. Cage of Atwood, Tenn. I will cancel all accounts on Lydia E. Roach previous to this date except piano which I consider as extra. " Felix Moore wrote in his account of the Pattons, Moores, and Youngers that Aunt Louisa and Uncle Williamson had the first piano in the county. He was very impressed about that as a child. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wilma Norton" <wilma@softcom.net> To: <YOUNGER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, August 04, 2001 2:14 PM Subject: [YOUNGER] Re: Lydia E. Yep!!! Sure 'tis! And that little piece of information gave me a child for Louisa Angeline Younger Howard, who was John Watkin's sister....Yea! John's mother was not born in TN. One of the kids must have given the info to the census taker. Also "Louiser's" father was born in NC just like her mother....so, this is not good info, but I know by seeing the Sam Howard (we've been looking for a child by Angeline with her first husband) that this is the John Watkins Younger family. He inherited the farm, because his dad said that John Watkins had received the least education of all his children, and John Watkins was the youngest, so he was supposed to stay and take care of the farm and his mother Louisa. I was thinking the same thing, that a transcriber might type Josephus as Joseph, but probably not the other way around. Yes, I subscribe to ancestry.
Let's look at this court action again -- maybe the "John and Joseph the last two infants by their next friend Williamson Younger" -- does not refer to Williamson's youngest brothers afterall. Does anyone have anything to give us a hint as to when they were born? Evidently they were infants in 1811 -- and it does say Joseph and not Josephus -- ???? I list a Josephus and John as the last two children of William and Mary (Watkins) Younger, I believe from into sent by Willie (not positive on that) or -- maybe it could be just a transcriber error. Anybody got anything to add?
