I'm disappointed if that is the answer........ when was this will written? Can you send us the text of the will? Also, who is Jesse H. Younger's father? (I've mostly kept only Joseph's line in my database). Thanks, Nancy In a message dated 8/5/01 9:10:12 PM Eastern Daylight Time, wilma@softcom.net writes: << I think I found my answer: Jesse Younger will, names children and to Ann C. Then I better mark off that he was not dead in 1841---thanks! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wilma Norton" <wilma@softcom.net> To: <YOUNGER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, August 05, 2001 8:59 PM Subject: Re: [YOUNGER] Suckey > Yes to both questions. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <NKYList@aol.com> > To: <YOUNGER-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, August 05, 2001 6:53 PM > Subject: Re: [YOUNGER] Suckey > > > > Is this the Jesse that married Temperance Brown? Brownie... I wondered about that. My own gr-grandmother retained her married name, but took the initials of her son with whom she lived. She was no longer known as Mrs. J. H. Younger (Joseph Holton Jr), but as Mrs. M. L. Younger (Monte Lee). I thought it odd when I found letters addressed to her as such, and my mother explained. I still think it's odd! haha!
I understand that Armistead, my gg grandfather, left Halifax, Virginia and some of the relatives went with him to Carroll County, TN. Some stayed in Carroll County and other's moved on to Independence County, now a part of Stone County, Ark in the early 1850's. ----- Original Message ----- From: "JYG" <jyg@kc.rr.com> To: <YOUNGER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, August 05, 2001 7:53 PM Subject: [YOUNGER] Can anyone place these? > -1850 TN Carroll County, 8th Civil District (83-84) > 1099/1099 30 Oct > Wm H. Wilma, Joseph Younger, d. 1823 in Wilkes Co., NC had a daughter named Susannah who was called Suckey! She's named in his will as Suckey Dowell (she was married to Peter Dowell). The age is right as I figure that Suckey would have been born between 1791-1795. She was married in 1812. But, if that is her, why would she be listed as Suckey Younger and not Suckey Dowell???

Helen- Actually when I was younger I didn't like being called a packrat, and often thought maybe I should get rid of what everyone was calling "junk" but these days my kids all thank me for not listening to my family.
