The Biblical Recorder is the official journal of the North Carolina Baptist State Convention. It is published once a week and has been in existence since 1834. I found this in an index of the Biblical Recorder. Younger, William P, Casualties of the North Carolina 6th Regiment, P0002.0006, 08 07 1861 Can anyone identify him?
I need a lookup! Please :-) I'm trying to find Nancy Younger who married William Green in Wilkes Co. NC. At ancestry.com, it says that there is a William Green in Wilkes (1850) on page 321 and page 348 (no twp. for either). Do either of these William's have a wife Nancy or anyone else in the household? Nancy & William were married in 1809. It would be too much to hope to find children with them in 1850, wouldn't it??? In 1860, William Green is on page 131, Swan Pond Twp, and page 244, Wilkesboro. Thanks, Nancy
Could someone post the family sheet on Jesse YOUNGER and his wife Temperance Brown or wives! Thanks!

Just to join in, haha.... I use PAF and FTM. I prefer PAF for printing out my Modified Register (Decendency) because I have scanned numerous photos of family members and print them within my report. As you read about the next person, there is their picture! I haven't found a way to do that in FTM. I do like the "book" feature of FTM though. I want to put together a book for my family too, and will probably combine the two to do it.
Is there anyway I can purchase this FOTY book? Thanks. This lady has a photo of the grave but her family were children when it was taken so they may have mistaken the area. She is hunting the photo. -Linda ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wilma Norton" <wilma@softcom.net> To: <YOUNGER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 06, 2001 5:21 PM Subject: Re: [YOUNGER] Joshua (Logan) Younger > Leatherwood Cem., Lawrence Co. My theory is this: Thomas and Ellen moved from Giles to Lawrence during the time the census was being taken. The older children are with them in Lawrence Co., perhaps the younger children were left with friends or family during the move. Homer should be Hannah (I believe). That's all the sense I can make of it. ----- Original Message ----- From: Helen McMindes <calark2@yournet.com> To: <YOUNGER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 06, 2001 9:01 AM Subject: Re: [YOUNGER] Two Thomases/ Two Elinors > I am inclined to agree with Brownie, but I do have questions. Brownie brought up the fact that FTM charges for just about everything. When sites like ancestry.com and familysearch.com give us free information, which has been submitted by folks like us, why then does FTM charge for all those TREES, which were also sent in by patrons like us? I never will understand how they can do this. I am subscribed to this for one month and do not see anything in them that are not found elsewhere except a lot of dates that are estimated. I wish these folks would send them to Ancestry instead Brownie don't feel bad about entering data that was incorrect, that's why we are doing this, to share ideas and get it right. I surely have deleted my share of wrongly entered data (ok more than my share!) but didn't figure how to do in on the Internet yet ;) I really want to get this finished so I can go back to my true love, making webpages! Brownie wrote: > I think the FTM is the best as far as layout is concerned. If you do then you would love Generations. It started out called Reunion and still is for the MAC. Reunion sold the Win version to Sierra. They used to have screen shots on their site at http://www.sierra.com They have changed the name to Generations and it has capabilities of millions of names. Here is what you see on your screen: At the top are 4 buttons one for each parent of the main box which looks like 5x7 cards, one for wife an one for husband. Below are buttons for each child. Press any button and that family card appears. You can also make the background and cards whatever colors you want-relieving that mono screen. Unlike FTM you do not have to scroll down to see all children, even if they has 20 of them, they are all there. The buttons only get smaller! If you need to erase a card you simply drag the button to the trash can in the upper corner. Also as far as the fields on the cards go you can make them say whatever you want. This is the problem you have though when you trade GEDcom info unless the person you exchange with has this program and the same fields. Say you have a field called military or census and your friend doesn't, the GEDcom has no place to put it and the info you entered may not come out as you would like. If you do use this program the best thing I found is to have birth/death and notes fields. Another neat thing is if you add a photo is shows up on the card, if you check the box to do so. It sure makes it not so monotonous to see a face or document once in a while! Gosh do I sound like a salesperson? Watever works best, is the best program for each of us. -Linda in KC
