Wilma H- I know why I am/was confused on this. I have Williamson Jr. as the last child. From the 1850 census his age shows he was born 1817 the same year his father died. Is that where you get your dates? I have no other date for him other than b Jan 1817. I have JHWCage as being b 1812??? Any dates on these kids? William is the "other" offspring of Thomas who married Patience...why don't you know this? There were two Williams in Halifax in the 1785 and 1790 tax list and census. One had seven white souls and the other had six. One had sons and daughters; the other had daughters only....William/Patience had four daughters only. So...noone is actually really sure that one is not a son of Thomas. Thanks, I got it! I have blown it up and I don't think it says Timada, but the "ada" part is the clearest. I do know that Mary Cansady Dowell (and I can't recall where I found that spelling) signed a letter to her mother-in-law, Kanzada. <--there's the "ada", but I can't make Kanz out of the first part of the name. I can see that there is no dotted "i" in the name. I suppose the census taker could have written most anything for Kanzada if he didn't want to ask them how to spell it. Maybe he heard Tensada???? This is the family though, and it makes more sense now that I see that "Timada" is a female head of household and not "husband". I knew that Mahlon died abt. June 1891. Thanks again! Nancy

Ok how about this: In Mary Bomar Youngers will she names her son, John Henry Wilson Younger. So, that should be that.

At that time I hypothesized that the child was the child of the daughter Mary Younger. That hypothesis was disputed and Mary Bomar Younger was purported to be the mother. If so, why did either Mary document in the court records the fact that Milton Cage was the father of John Henry? Either it is one way or the other. If Milton Cage is the documented father, either Mary Bomar had an out of wedlock child or her daughter did. I just can't get past that court record.
