    3. Can you double check this? Did you mean 96 years old? not if born in 1835. Elizabeth Souther, who married Sia Younger was born in 1835, but I have their marriage as 1860 (from the IGI) and no children born until 1861.     3. I think that's right. It's how I was given the info from a family member. However, William Gray Jr. also had a daughter, Mary E. born about the same time as Mary E. of Azel. I never noticed that until tonight. I guess I'll have to order the orig. marriage record of Mary E. Younger & William Marlow to be sure.

    3. I think you are right. The ages and places of birth are there and the fact that she was unmarried at age 51 in the 1880 census adds to the possibility. Azel and Margaret would have been dead and she lived alone. The names on either side of her appear to be Crowder. Azel's daughters married Roney, Brown, Marshall, Marlow, Davis and Cline, so they aren't around.     3. Linda, I believe that Martha is the same as Amanda M. from the 1880 census. In 1880, she was living with her brother, Azel. I actually have a question in my notes: Are Martha & Amanda the same? Just in case she's someone else. Amanda M. is the daughter of William Gray Sr & Mary Sharp(e). The age for Martha is right and the fact that she's born in NC. Can you take a look at her immediate neighbors? Maybe that will help.
