Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/SdXBAEB/206.236.1 Message Board Post: Thanks for your reply. I'm definitely interested. My grandfather was David Lonzo Jacks, and the family story goes that Frank James (and some say Cole Younger was with him) visited my grandparents at Plainville, GA (about 6 miles north of Rome) in the late 1800s, after Frank had been pardoned by the Governor of Missouri. My question was "Why?" And I was told that the James brothers and my grandfather were cousins. I have not been able to come up with any family connection, and now wonder if the relationship was with my grandmother, Arminta "Minnie" McDaniel, whose mother was a Rice. Or, if the relationship was with the Younger family instead of the James family. Any info you have will be appreciated. Email me at jbw7255@aol.com. Thanks! Jerry Waters

    1. Re: [YOUNGER] 1785 Heads of Household Halifax VA Alphabetized
    2. Again we find a Joseph Younger IN Halifax Co in 1785 as well as on the 1790 census. So, I ask again....who is this Joseph Younger? Why is he not the son of Thomas? This question has been repeatedly ignored. For me, it's impossible to ignore it. The presence of a Joseph (a named son of Thomas) in the exact county where Thomas wrote his will certainly raises doubt that Joseph of Wilkes Co. is the son of Thomas. 3. I have the information you mention except I have a different birthdate for Joseph W. I have 10 Oct 1803, Chatham County, NC. I knew he was a Mormon but I did not know he was at Nauvoo. That event is still celebrated by an annual pagaent there (so I'm told by a Mormon friend) Bette Andres wrote: > While digging in my old files, found the descendants of Joseph W. > Younger, who married Susan McCurley. 3. Don't bother, Kathy. It really isn't true. There is no blood relationship of the Youngers to the Jameses. I think there is an in-law connection but no blood. If you are descended from the Youngers, how about telling us something about yourself and maybe we could hook you up with your blood line. The Friends of the Youngers maintains a large data base which has been very helpful to many people. kand@techline.com wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SdXBAEB/206.236 > > Message Board Post: > > Hello, > > I am a descendant Of the Younger Brothers and in some of my findings it was reported that the James Brothers married the sisters of Cole and his brothers. 3. Linda, Found an interesting site. The family of Thomas J. White. On page 98 he claims the following: Joshua Younger, son of John and Sarah Kennard, son of Humphrey Younger. He has Humphrey listed as born 1677 in Strasberg Germany. URL is: www.familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/w/h/i/Thomas-J-White/TREE/index.html I have E-mailed him asking what documentation he can show for place of birth of Humphrey. I'm betting he can't produce anything but you never know...
